As Sun Wukong's Ruyi Jingu Bang had pierced through nearly a thousand spheres of light, he had assumed that these spheres were merely somewhat tough defenses. So when he saw the Eternal Buddha of Flowing Light split off two spheres of light at the last moment, he didn't pay it much heed. But the moment his fist struck the spheres, Sun Wukong knew something was wrong; he had been careless. Before he had a chance to think further, Sun Wukong was already sucked into one of the glowing spheres.
