A table about two meters wide and four meters long, this table looked very simple, almost to the point where calling it a table didn't quite fit. It appeared to be a large tree trunk split down the middle and then propped up by two ice pillars—created by Xi Zhao to prevent it from collapsing to either side. Everyone gave peculiar looks at this makeshift conference table; even a small monkey was sitting off to the side, peeling at the bark playfully.
Xi Zhao took the foremost seat at the head of the table, the end furthest inside the room, while Ming Wanjie stood behind him with his hands behind his back. This surprised everyone present; Ming Wanjie was a long-established expert in the Netherworld World, the lord of the Underworld, ranked first among the ten Inner City lords, and considered one of the top five experts in the Netherworld World. Nevertheless, he now willingly stood behind Xi Zhao, making it clear that he attended the meeting as a guard.
