Zhang Xiaobei had barely finished speaking when the cell phone lying on the coffee table suddenly rang. The caller, as shown by the caller ID, was Liu Wanfang.
Yet, in response to this call, Liu Jingjing merely glanced at it and paid no further attention.
The phone rang over and over, but Liu Jingjing had no intention of answering. The room finally quieted down when the battery drained and the phone died.
"Brother, do you have plans tonight? If not, you should stay here! That way, I won't be as scared."
Liu Jingjing's request left Zhang Xiaobei unsure of how to reply for a moment.
If he flatly refused under these circumstances, he worried that Liu Jingjing might not cope and could do something unforeseen.
But if he agreed, then he wasn't sure how he would face everything in the future.
Just as Zhang Xiaobei was about to make up an excuse, his cell phone in his pocket suddenly rang.
Pulling out his phone, he saw the call was from Jiang Changhai.
