Chapter 1 - Prologue

Southern Continent, Northern Part.

Military vehicles raced along a road that was far from smooth, their advance tense and hurried. Fully armed soldiers with solemn expressions clutched their submachine guns as they stood in the vehicles, while on either side of the street, more fully armed soldiers lined up.

"Gaz…"

Accompanied by a sharp, ear-piercing, and odd whistle, a stretched black Lincoln slowly emerged from a lane packed with armed soldiers and sped towards the stage below, stopping only when it reached the base.

Three men in black suits with a chilling aura in their eyes swiftly exited the rear of the Lincoln, surveying the surroundings before bending respectfully to open the car door.

A man with a grim face and a harsh aura, his head full of silver hair, slowly got out of the car.

"Wa gua g…"

As the man's figure appeared, a series of screams and shouts suddenly erupted from the crowd below.

This was their first time seeing their leader.

"Hello everyone!"

The excited cheers and screams from below brought a flush to the man's face, as if he had rediscovered a certain feeling. The gloominess disappeared from his face, and he raised his hand, vigorously waving at the crowd.

While waving his hands and escorted by several men, he slowly made his way towards the stage.

"My dear brothers and sisters, I love you!"

Standing at the center of the stage, looking down at the dense crowd below, the man's expression grew increasingly passionate.

"I love you!"

"Ooh…"

Suddenly, just as the crowd was immersed in an ocean of excitement, the once passionate man on stage abruptly had his pupils contract and let out a scream of agony. His tall and erect figure thundered to the ground.

"…"

The three closest bodyguards quickly realized their leader's abnormal condition and rushed to catch him before he hit the ground while angrily and anxiously shouting, "Quick, someone has attempted to assassinate the leader, immediately lock down the site!"

"Ah!"

"The leader!!

"The leader has been stabbed!"

"FUCK!"

"…"

Those below the stage also quickly noticed the sudden turn of events and chaos erupted.

On the east side of the audience, a soldier clad in a simple and standard uniform hat pulled down low, watched the commotion unfold above and below the stage. He gently lifted the rim of his hat, revealing the pale cheek of an Eastern man. It was only for a moment, then he pulled the hat back down, almost burying his face inside, and turned to walk unhurriedly towards the exit of the venue.

Five hours later.

An international airport in the South.

"The long-sought leader of Country X was mysteriously assassinated five hours ago in a southern city with a short silver needle as the weapon. From the execution of the act, it is very likely that the mysterious killer-physician of recent years is responsible. Currently, the country has completely sealed off all road exits, and the leader's supporters have declared they will find the murderer to offer their great leader's blood and flesh in sacrifice. The famous Southern Continent mercenary group responsible for the protection of the leader, the globally notorious terrorist organization Coffee Corps, has also announced their intention to apprehend the murderer within the global perimeter…"

The colorful television in the airport's waiting hall broadcast the news anchor's extensive coverage of the sensational news that had just arrived a few hours ago.

An Eastern young man in his early twenties, clad in casual pants and dragging a small suitcase, looked up at the TV screen above. With long, clean fingers, he gently pushed the transparent, frameless glasses on the bridge of his nose. Beneath the thick lenses, his narrow eyes flickered with a hint of derision. Without lingering in front of the television, he turned and slowly headed for the boarding gate.
