"Enough playing around Ray. We have done damage to the academy, but your teams failed to do their job. Elena wasn't killed, nor was any of the other targets we wanted." said Jack Ripper, a reaper who was at the same level of authority and strength as Ray.
"Your son failed to kill Elena in an ambush, with a team of proficient Adept mages. He failed miserably and baited out that he was a spy."
Ray Johnson's laughter died down as Jack's stern words cut through the darkened conference room. The mood shifted instantly from jovial to tense.
Ray's smirk faded, replaced by a cold, calculating expression as he leaned back in his chair, fingers drumming lightly on the table.
