"She's fine, just needs some rest"
Lara woke up and felt a hand on her forehead and a strange voice in the background. She opened her eyes and tried to get up, only to feel an extreme headache which forced her to lay back down.
"Are you okay?"
Kiera asked when she saw her try to get up, she closed in and supported Lara to drink some water. She drank the water like her life depended on it and even soaked her collar.
She laid back down and was soon fast asleep.
Knowing that Lara was a light sleeper, Carlos motioned to his wife to leave the room; once outside, he slowly closed the door, leaving the lights on.
"What happened to her?" He asked Kiera.
"I heard a noise, and when I entered the room, she was already on the floor,r," she replied, ed, shrugging her shoulders.
After making sure all was quiet, Lara opened her eyes and looked around her room. Seeing it was empty she sat up and thought back to earlier. She was having a blast exploring her new 'abilities,' but then she felt a sharp headache and fainted. Does that mean she couldn't use her new ability at will?
"Argh!" she screamed into her pillow.
"But still not too bad she said to herself.
Does this mean that just like those novels that she had read before, she, as the reborn character, will get so many new abilities and a ....a…..
"A system!" she suddenly screamed out but immediately covered her mouth, knowing that her family might just rush in worried.
But the reborn person always gets their system immediately they wake up, and seeing the light rays of the sun this is her second day in this new life, so probably not.
"But wait, I've gotten enhanced memory, which means I will have more gifts." She thought whilst smiling widely.
She got dressed and went down to start her day early; today, she was going to go around and check out a few things.
Lara went down and sat in the living deciding to scroll through her phone whilst breakfast was being prepared; as much as she wanted to turn a new leaf, the kitchen was not her area.
"I know!!!, did you see her reaction when you said that?"
Lara raised her head when she heard a voice speaking excitedly and a man's laughter. When she turned around she was welcomed by the appearance of her father and Kiera in sweatpants and shirt, judging by the sweat from them, they might have been coming from a5 b run….. "no oh, dad can't run….at all. Then they must be coming from a jog" that's more realistic.
"Good Morning" Kiera greeted when she saw Lara seated.
Carlos, who was right behind her, lifted his head and saw his elder daughter seated in the living room and was taken aback; he looked at his watch and confirmed that it was 7 am.
"You're up... early"
Lara turned her attention to her father when she heard his comment.
"I woke up early, so…."
Carlos narrowed his eyes at Lar and wondered what she was up to...again. But looking at her calm demeanor and innocent look, he decided to give her the benefit of the doubt…again.
Along with Kiera, Carlos headed to his room for a shower and then breakfast.
"Good morning, Kiera"
Kiera stumbled on the stairs and almost fell; Carlos, quick in his response, wrapped an arm around her waist and helped her stabilize herself.
They both turned to look at Lara at the same time and saw her preoccupied with her phone, she was seated as if what she just did was a normal occurrence.
The couple looked at each other wide-eyed and decided to ignore it.
Lara saw their reaction and almost burst out laughing, but with the memories of the cold ceo, she could easily neutralize her expression and pretended to be focused on her phone.
When the couple had come back down for breakfast, Lara and Evelyn were already seated waiting on them.
Breakfast was a silent one, and it being a Monday, the Couple rushed to their company, and Evelyn, being a student and still on holiday, decided to go back to her room.
Soon, Lara was left alone at the dining table, thinking about what her first action to test out her abilities would be.
She remembered that somehow those characters were very good at picking jadeites that had very good jade.
But the only problem is Jadeites ain't found in this part of the world, further down south of the continent then there would be mines and shops…. Just for the jadeites.
" too bad"
A ping woke her up from her thoughts, and she left the dining room to pick up her phone; she saw a notification from one of the other kids in the upper society post.
She clicked on the notification and was redirected to the actual post; she saw the youngest son of the Almins surfing; surfing is almost alien to A city.
"Rich kids and their weird hobbies"
"WEIRD HOBBIES"
She gasped, closed the app, opened her contacts, and asked a few people if they had any idea about a jadeite exhibition or shop in the area.
True to her thought, she was not disappointed the third person she called told her that he was just coming from a private one and that the shop was gonna be open for two more weeks.
It was mostly for the second generation, and like the,m to just have fun and nothing serious. He sent her the location and Lara thanked him.
She looked at the address and noticed that it was not too far from her home and would be able to reach there in 20 minutes.
Lara had driven halfway to her destination when she remembered that her father had all her bank cards and she also didn't have any cash.
"Dammit"
Frustrated, she hit the stirring wheel and decided to take an upturn home; the moment she got on the new lane, she saw a flash and stepped on her brakes.
The car skidded for a few seconds before coming to a complete stop. At another time she would've been thankful but she heard a heavy 'thud' and people on the sidewalk gasped
