Continuation!
I found myself sitting comfortably in the eye of the storm. The subject of TingTing—my second brother Yue Shen's soon-to-be bride from the Heavenly Jade Sect—had stirred quite the drama.
A marriage proposal between the strongest sect in the Xianlun World and our Heaven Secret Sect wasn't a light matter. It was strategic, monumental, and, for me, very amusing.
Why amusing? Well, TingTing coming into this family meant one thing: another conquest. My brother? I couldn't help but feel a tinge of pity for him. He had no idea what was truly in store for him.
Of course, I had no remorse for what was going to unfold next. After all, it was inevitable once she joined the family.
My attention shifted back to my mother and my two grandmothers. 'Boss-level monsters in terms of conquest', I thought to myself with a sly grin. No, monsters was an understatement. These women were terrifying in their own unique ways. Though beautiful, their looks belied their years and their vast power.
And I knew although I liked them, I won't be able to conquer them in matter of a few attempts, that's how TingTing fits into the plot, my well crafted plan that I spent years calculating.
My mother, Bao Linyue, was the most composed of the three. Her aura was like a still lake—calm on the surface but hiding unimaginable depths. With her refined, graceful appearance, she looked to be in her mid-thirties at most.
Her long, silky black hair cascaded down her back, and her sharp yet soft features gave her an ageless beauty. She was dressed in the elegant white and silver robes of our sect, radiating an aura of quiet power.
My mother rarely raised her voice, but her opinion carried the weight of the heavens themselves.
Then there was my second grandmother, Yue Zhaoxiang, the true wild card of the family. Her striking white hair, tied in an intricate braid, contrasted against her youthful, delicate features, giving her the appearance of a celestial immortal who had descended from the heavens.
Her eyes sparkled with a cunning intelligence, and her playful smirks always made me think she was two steps ahead of everyone else in the room. Unlike my mother's composed demeanor, Yue Zhaoxiang had a penchant for mischief, and her aura was anything but quiet.
She exuded a subtle pressure, always present, always watching, making it clear she could crush anyone in her path without breaking a sweat.
And lastly, my first grandmother, Bao Zhenhua, whose beauty could command armies. Her long black hair was tied up in a crown-like fashion, her dark eyes piercing and full of mystery.
Her skin, smooth and flawless, belied her centuries of life. In her late thirties by appearance, but with a presence that stretched beyond time itself. Bao Zhenhua carried herself like a queen—regal, untouchable, and always calculating.
The weight of her spiritual power was evident in every step she took, and even without speaking, she could bend the will of those around her.
Out of the three, my mother was probably the easiest to deal with—at least, when it came to matters like these. Yue Zhaoxiang and Bao Zhenhua, though? That was a different story altogether.
I cast a glance at my sister, Yue Lanwei, and caught her eye. She looked at me, then quickly looked away, her cheeks turning pink. I suppressed a chuckle. She knew me all too well—probably better than anyone else in this family, I mean my dark desires.
She had stumbled upon my real nature by sheer accident years ago, and we had made a 'deal' to keep it between us. Not that I minded. Yue Lanwei was always playing hard to get, but deep down, I knew it was all a facade to hold onto her role in the family as long as possible.
The second bro-con of the family!
Yue Lanwei was just as beautiful as our mother. Her long, jet-black hair framed a face that was both delicate and fierce, her amber eyes glinting with intelligence and ambition.
She wore the traditional Heaven Secret Sect robes, accentuated with intricate gold patterns her chest prouding outwardly. Though her beauty rivaled that of any of the "young misses" in the Xianlun World, it was her sharp tongue and stronger cultivation that made her stand out.
Lanwei wasn't against TingTing joining the family because she hated her—no, it was something else entirely.
She knew full well that a beauty like TingTing would immediately flare up my… interests the moment she became a part of the family.
And that's why she wanted to stop it. Not because of my brother, but because she didn't want any more other competition.
She hadn't fully won the battle with the other bro-con sister of mine.
I grinned wickedly, knowing exactly what she was thinking. Poor Yue Shen. He really had no idea what was about to happen.
And then, as if the heavens themselves were smiling down upon me, my second grandmother declared, "Little Devil, you will be the one to approve if TingTing is worthy of joining this family."
Yue Shen shot me a pleading, expectant look, but I merely raised an eyebrow in response. Did he really think I wouldn't play around with this situation just a little?
It didn't matter that TingTing came from the strongest sect in the Xianlun World. Her background was irrelevant here. After all, if our family cared about backgrounds alone, my eldest brother would've been married to the eldest princess of the Sky Above Realm long ago.
We didn't just take anyone for their status. They had to prove themselves worthy.
Yue Lanwei ground her teeth together, frustration flashing across her face. She knew exactly what I was grinning at. She could sense the mischief swirling in my mind, and she was powerless to stop it.
TingTing was going to join this family. That much was clear. Whether she would enjoy her time here? Well, that was another story. I leaned back in my seat, meeting Yue Shen's gaze with a devilish grin.
"Don't worry, brother," I said with a playful glint in my eyes. "I'll make sure TingTing is a perfect fit for our family."
Yue Lanwei shot me a glare, but she knew it was already over. Whatever game I was about to play, she could only sit back and watch. I winked at her again, and this time, she didn't look away—she just gave me a resigned sigh.
My second grandmother's voice cut through the tension. "Good. It's settled then. Little Devil will determine if TingTing is worthy."
The meeting came to a close, but before I could stand up, both of my grandmothers moved in tandem. Their spiritual auras encased me, like invisible hands lifting me from my seat. The sheer pressure of their power bore down on me, though I managed to keep my composure, even as I was practically carried off.
I shot Yue Shen one last look—one of playful defiance. Poor guy. His future wife was going to be mine, one way or another. Well, what can I do? I can't avoid the allure of beauties like TingTing if they were part of my family that is.
As I was carried out by my grandmothers' combined spiritual power, I couldn't help but laugh internally. Wherever they were taking me, I was sure it would be amusing. Whether they intended to scold me or plot with me, I had no doubt I'd come out on top.
After all, I always did.
As we disappeared down the corridor, I caught the briefest glimpse of Yue Lanwei. She watched me leave with a mix of exasperation and something else. Something she tried to hide, but I knew all too well. She wasn't fooling me.
This was just the beginning, and I couldn't wait to see how things would unfold.
And as for TingTing? Well, she would fill the space between these three women soon enough. All I had to do was to follow the crafted perfect plan.
TingTing wasn't part of my plans like individually but her category was, a powerful young woman worth joining our family and she wasn't the only one!
Hehe. Poor Yue Shen.
