Chapter 141 - Chapter 141: The Forbidden Land of the Immortal Realm

Xiao Fan was truly speechless. He had never encountered such a request before. Who could have imagined that someone would actually enjoy being scolded? But seeing Xuanwei's frowning face, it was clear that if he didn't meet her peculiar demand, she wouldn't listen to him.

Resigned to the situation, and following the principle of "teaching according to the student's needs," Xiao Fan reluctantly decided to go along with Xuanwei's unusual quirk.

"You idiot! Did you remember what I just told you?" Xiao Fan scolded loudly.

"Ahh~ Mmm~" Xuanwei moaned in satisfaction, her face full of delight. "Yes, Master, your disciple has remembered."

"Good…" Xiao Fan could hardly describe his feelings at that moment. It was a strange start, but perhaps it was progress...

Having figured out how to manage Xuanwei, Xiao Fan's thoughts turned back to the mysterious force that had been summoning him. He wanted to investigate the source of this power, which had originally drawn his consciousness to the Immortal Realm. He needed to understand what it was and why it was calling to him.

So, he suggested to Xuanwei that they venture deeper into the immortal island. Of course, he didn't mention the summoning force, only saying that he wanted to explore further since they had been in the same place for so long.

Given that he now had a physical body but no cultivation, he would need Xuanwei to accompany him if he wanted to go anywhere.

However, when Xuanwei heard his request, her expression changed dramatically. For the first time, she looked at him with grave seriousness.

"Master, the area ahead is the Forbidden Land of the Immortal Realm. No immortal is allowed to enter, and I am its guardian!"

According to Xuanwei, this forbidden land had existed since the beginning of time. Legends said that it harbored unimaginable terrors, and entering it would bring catastrophic disaster not only to the Immortal Realm but to the lower realms as well.

The Immortal Emperor had decreed that no immortal could set foot in the forbidden land. To enforce this, he had sealed the area with an immortal formation and assigned Xuanwei as its guardian.

After hearing Xuanwei's explanation, Xiao Fan's mind was filled with questions. The force that had been summoning him was coming from within this forbidden land, something he had not expected. Could it be that the terrifying presence within the forbidden land was the one summoning him? But why him, of all people? How could a being that even the Immortal Emperor feared be calling out to him?

Despite his curiosity, Xiao Fan abandoned the idea of exploring further. Xuanwei's warning that entering the forbidden land could bring disaster to both the Immortal and mortal realms was enough to deter him.

He also realized why the area around Xuanwei's mountain was so desolate. With the Immortal Emperor's decree in place and Xuanwei guarding the land, no other immortals dared come near. It was no wonder she had seemed so lonely and isolated when he first met her. Immortals lived for countless years, and Xuanwei had spent an untold amount of time alone, guarding this forbidden land. Now, he could better understand why her mind had become somewhat… unusual.

Xiao Fan couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for Xuanwei. Before he came along, her life must have been unbearably lonely.

One thing still puzzled Xiao Fan, though: why had the Immortal Emperor chosen Xuanwei to guard this forbidden land? What was so special about her?

When Xiao Fan voiced this question, Xuanwei immediately forgot her promise to refrain from using crude language and launched into a tirade.

"Isn't it because of my damned father, that heartless bastard! He claimed he didn't trust anyone else, so he made me guard this stupid forbidden land!"

"The scoundrel even placed a restriction on me so I can never leave this place without his permission!"

Xuanwei raged, pounding the table with her fists. It was clear she was genuinely furious.

Xiao Fan could understand her frustration. Even though she had broken their agreement, he let it slide, allowing her to vent her anger freely.

But one thing caught his attention—Xuanwei had been assigned to guard the forbidden land by her father. Earlier, she had said the Immortal Emperor had assigned her this task. Did this mean that Xuanwei was the daughter of the Immortal Emperor?

This realization shocked Xiao Fan. The Immortal Emperor was the most powerful and revered being across all realms. And now, he was the master of the Immortal Emperor's daughter? Didn't that make him… equal in status to the Immortal Emperor?

Xiao Fan broke out in a cold sweat. The thought was too unbelievable.

How could someone like him be considered on the same level as the Immortal Emperor?

Outside the Vast Heaven Mirror.

Everyone was just as stunned, their faces filled with disbelief as they looked at the God Clan Empress. Not only was she an immortal from the Immortal Realm, but she was also the daughter of the Immortal Emperor! The revelation was beyond shocking.

Seeing their reactions, Xuanwei gradually dispelled the divine light surrounding her and revealed her true form once again. She appeared as calm and serene as ever, her face exuding purity and grace, her presence otherworldly. She seemed completely unfazed by the astonished stares.

Her expression was as if to say, "There's nothing to be surprised about. So what if I'm the Immortal Emperor's daughter?"

But in truth, Xuanwei was feeling a bit smug. After enduring so much embarrassment, it was finally her turn to impress these ignorant mortals.

"Hah! What's with the act?" scoffed the Northern Nether Empress, Leng Ruoxue. The God Clan Empress's true nature had already been exposed—no amount of posturing could change that. Sure, it was surprising that she was the Immortal Emperor's daughter, but maybe the Immortal Emperor had sent her to the lower realms because even he couldn't deal with her.

The Lunar Empress, Wen Yaxian, found the whole situation rather amusing. The God Clan Empress had an innocent, almost childlike quality to her.

The Heavenly Fire Empress, Huo Ling'er, shook her head in disbelief. Xiao Fan was right—this Xuanwei was a real fool! She couldn't believe she had wasted time arguing with this idiot earlier.

The Dragon Empress, Long Xiaoxiao, had already decided it wasn't worth confronting Xuanwei anymore. Watching a fool for too long might make her stupid, too.

The Demon Empress, Gongsun Yarou, quietly put more distance between herself and Xuanwei. Sometimes it wasn't the clever ones you had to worry about, but the reckless fools. She had already been outmaneuvered by Xuanwei several times and decided it was best to stay away from her.

Up in the sky, the Jade Pool Empress looked down with disdain. "So she's the Immortal Emperor's daughter? Well, she's certainly no match for me, the daughter of the Heavenly Emperor!"

With that thought, the Jade Pool Empress's mood improved significantly, especially after Xuanwei had tried to deflect attention onto her earlier.
