"Oi, you stupid assassin, stop grinning like a fool and get over here to help me suppress these two meat shields"
The loud voice, waking me up from my stupor came from the hot-tempered broadsword wielder. Seeing that the four were still fighting against the two guardians, I let out a sigh. Having learned from all the previous games, it doesn't really benefit me to tolerate his thrashing. Instead, it would be wiser to mess with the idiot, as there are no consequences no matter what happens. The probability of meeting again is very low anyways.
'At least I can let out some of my discontent this way.'
"Get your act together you fool, do you seriously want to lose?"
'I was the one who killed the two mages, how come you couldn't even handle the other two?'
Suppressing my discontent, I say.
"I have a dagger; I can't penetrate his armor with that"
Knowing full well that I could have stabbed them in the gaps of their armor, I played stupid.
"Alright, stop messing with the hothead, I know that you just don't want to help him because of what he said. Let's just finish this up so that we won't be stuck here anymore."
Hearing that argument from the mage, I shrugged, walking slowly over to the two guardians. Seeing my approach, the two guardian's attention shifts from the two broadsword wielders towards me, giving the two broadsword wielders the opportunity to get a solid hit in.
"HAHAHAHAHA, FALL BY MY SWORD"
Hearing that foolish sentence, I once again confirm my resolution to stay away from people.
With that hit, the stalemate had ceased, allowing the team of 4 to finish the two guardians off.
With the elimination of the remaining two enemies, the bell had rung, signaling the end of the match.
Returning to my room, I checked the time, while the match had seemed to take 30 minutes to finish, it had only been 5 minutes in the real world. A system notice appeared, saying "You still have 9 matches remaining, if all 9 are not played, a penalty will be accrued". Seeing the system reminder, I had decided to go eat breakfast and then went right back to SimuField, finishing up the remaining 9 matches.
Noticing that the time had quickly approached noon, I prepared to leave the house, intending to find a place to read books. The advancement of technology has made the language barrier nonexistent, as the gate comes with a language translation package, allowing for communication between any person. Such advancements have not made their way towards animals yet, as people are still figuring out the intricacies of their language.
The German city 'Leid' boasts an expansive number of restaurants, filling up the main street. Walking along the street, the smell of various specialties fills my nose. Walking around for a bit, a small store at the corner of the street sparks my interest. Being an introvert, the act of eating out in a crowded space still bothers me. Instead, a small store at the corner seems more appealing. Even after 3 years, some things just haven't changed. While I have been able to naturally interact with the cashiers during shopping trips, making conversation is still difficult.
'Except during the time with her'
Removing any lingering thoughts from my mind, I enter the store. The store, albeit small, does feel quite comfortable. Inside the store, a girl around my age works at the front desk, taking customers' orders.
Standing in line, I take a quick glance around the interior of the store. The inside of the store is not heavily decorated, rather, it seems to resemble a food stall more. The space is quite small compared to the other restaurants on the main street, half of it being the cooking space alone. Even though the store is small and there are no seats to eat at, their business seems to be doing quite well, as they have quite a few customers.
The store, selling Dӧner Kebabs was quite a rarity. Compared to the other restaurants nearby, the Kebabs seemed simpler but also had its own signature specialty.
The Kebab was made right in front of your eyes, made with pita bread, layered by shredded lettuce and then lamb meat shaved from the vertical rotisserie. The sandwich-looking dish was then topped with garlic sauce on top, looking quite delectable. Alongside the Kebab, people had received a side of french fries.
Seeing that, I had been quite eager to have a taste myself. As the line grew shorter, it soon became my turn. As the person before me got their meal, the girl greets me.
"Hello, what would you like to get today?"
The girl smiled in the way customer service personnel were trained to smile, with their friendliest smile. Hearing her question, I thought for a bit before ordering.
"I would like a Dӧner Kebab with a coke."
Noticing that her 'Gate' had translated my words into German, she had revealed a surprised expression for a second before returning to her friendly customer service smile.
"Understood, it will be done in a few minutes."
After a few minutes, she handed me a plastic bag containing a small portion of fries, a can of coke, and something packed inside of aluminum foil.
"Thank you for your patronage"
"Thanks"
Leaving the store, I decided to explore the city a bit more while eating the Kebab, where my journey eventually led me to the city library. The city 'Leid', being way bigger than the small rural city I lived in during middle school, didn't have as many quiet places compared to the small city. In addition, the city, while being walkable, utilized mostly the city train for transportation. Due to its expansive size, the main method of transportation was the city train, running across the whole city. Alongside the expansive railway, the city boasts beautiful, clean red brick paved walkways, medieval style housing alongside impressive architectural structures such as the Cologne Cathedral, inviting visitors in with its vibrant, expansive feel.
