Mika's decision puzzled Gilgamesh.
But he quickly made up his mind.
He would reclaim Ea, his sword of rupture.
Gilgamesh possessed absolute confidence. When wielding Ea, he was undoubtedly the strongest.
He was certain that with it, he could overcome any obstacle.
"Then come!"
...
"Are you confident you can handle Gilgamesh wielding Ea?" Merlin asked seriously, standing beside Mika.
"Confident? I have some confidence, but not much," Mika chuckled, gazing at the distant Vimana. "But at least it's a possibility. However, there's no way to counter Gilgamesh freely flying in Vimana."
Besides this, Mika had other considerations.
In his view, Gilgamesh's truly formidable Noble Phantasm wasn't Ea, the sword that represented the severing of the world, but rather the Gate of Babylon, the crystallization of human wisdom.
If Gilgamesh used the Gate of Babylon effectively, there was no way to counter it.
He could adapt to any enemy.
Just like Merlin currently, under Gilgamesh's anti-magic Noble Phantasms, there was no possibility of retaliation.
Of course, this referred to a serious Gilgamesh.
Not the arrogant, often careless one.
Against such a Gilgamesh, Mika believed that returning Ea might not be a bad thing.
He felt he could counter a Gilgamesh wielding Ea, though the odds weren't in his favor.
But the possibility existed, which is why Mika had arrived at this decision.
"It seems the King of Heroes is truly confident," Mika mused, manipulating the fighter jet to hover in mid-air as he observed Gilgamesh's actions.
"Then come!"
With a thought, Mika launched the last two missiles from the fighter jet.
Simultaneously, several golden Noble Phantasms shot out from the Gate of Babylon beside Vimana, targeting Mika's fighter jet and gauntlet.
The attacks crossed paths in mid-air, hurtling towards their respective targets.
In the next moment, Mika's missiles and Gilgamesh's Noble Phantasms struck their targets simultaneously.
After a prolonged aerial battle, the dogfight finally reached its conclusion.
Their vehicles destroyed, Mika, Merlin, and Gilgamesh plummeted from the sky.
But their expressions remained unchanged.
They locked eyes in mid-air, a silent understanding passing between them.
They knew that once they landed, their final showdown would begin.
...
"Berserker!"
Hearing Mika's call, Lancelot, who had been circling nearby, piloted his fighter jet towards Mika.
In the next moment, Mika and Merlin were alongside Lancelot.
"Are you ready, Mika?"
Merlin knew he could offer little assistance in the upcoming battle.
He was certain that Gilgamesh would target him, limiting his ability to intervene.
"Ready? I'm not quite ready yet," Mika replied, shaking his head gently before looking down at the ground.
"This time, I don't need your help, Merlin. I need hers."
He smiled as he saw Airmid and Mellie rushing towards them from below. Then, he leaped from the jet, descending rapidly to join them.
"Mika!"
Seeing him, Airmid and Mellie rushed to his side.
Noticing their tattered clothes, Gabriel, who had awakened, quickly flew over and draped coats over their shoulders from her dimensional pocket.
"You've worked hard. How are you feeling after the battle with the Hassans?"
"Well, I feel like I'm still too inexperienced," Mellie admitted, shaking her head. If it weren't for Airmid's magic, which effectively countered the Hassans, they wouldn't have stood a chance.
The memory of the battle sent shivers down her spine.
She had never experienced such a constant threat of death, not even in the dungeon.
"Don't worry, it's good to recognize your weaknesses," Mika reassured her. "We still have plenty of time to improve and refine our skills."
After comforting Mellie, Mika turned to Airmid.
"Airmid, please bless me."
Airmid was taken aback by his request. Then, her expression turned to one of panic.
"Mika, are you planning to use that?!" she exclaimed.
She knew the blessing Mika referred to was his "Sharing Weal and Woe" skill.
His request meant he had decided to utilize his ultimate ability.
Mika nodded silently.
"Has it come to this?"
After a brief moment of panic, Airmid regained her composure and stepped forward, taking Mika's hand in hers.
"Fight with all your might, Mika. I will always support you."
She clasped his hands before her, and a milky white light enveloped him.
Then, she began to chant.
"O flowing drops of healing, tears of light, eternal sanctuary, I call upon the aria of light."
"Three hundred sixty-five melodies, the calendar of healing that shall save all."
"Come forth, dispel the evil."
"Bury the wounds, banish the pain, send curses to the other side, deliver the cardinal of light."
"In the name of the gods, I shall heal."
"Dia Fratel!"
Airmid's healing magic washed over Mika, swiftly mending his injuries and dispelling his fatigue.
He was restored to his peak condition.
The magic continued to heal and protect him.
But that wasn't all.
Even after the chant concluded, Airmid continued her efforts.
With Gabriel's return, she had reconnected to Gabriel's magic conversion channel.
Sensing the boundless magical energy, she swiftly began converting it into ki.
Simultaneously, she activated her Nen ability.
"Enhance, continuous!"
Through her training, Airmid had developed her Enhancement ability to affect not only herself but others as well.
However, when used on others, the enhancement's potency decreased, and the ki consumption increased several times over.
But these drawbacks were insignificant.
The increased ki consumption could be supplemented by the energy converted from Gabriel's magic.
As for the weakened enhancement effect?
Mika was content with any enhancement, no matter how small.
After a brief preparation, a halo of ki surrounded Mika.
"This is my 'Gift Enhancement.' It will significantly amplify your next attack. This is the last enhancement I can offer you."
Looking at Airmid's determined yet reluctant expression, Mika reached out and gently ruffled her hair.
"This is enough!"
---
Nen abilities from the Hunter x Hunter world were renowned for their incredible diversity.
Though their foundation was the same,
The abilities manifested varied greatly depending on the Nen user's personality.
A Nen user's personality significantly influenced the formation of their abilities.
And Airmid was no exception.
As Mika's childhood friend, Airmid embarked on the path of an adventurer to stay by his side and offer him unwavering support.
Therefore, her awakened magic and skills were heavily influenced by her desire to protect Mika from harm and prevent his death. This led to the awakening of "Dia Fratel" and "Sharing Weal and Woe."
Her Nen ability followed the same principle.
Despite being an Enhancer, whose Nen abilities should typically focus on self-enhancement or simply strengthening the body,
Airmid had developed not only "Enhancement," a straightforward yet incredibly potent ability,
But also "Gift Enhancement," a skill that empowered others.
And with Gabriel's continuous magical support, the strength boost provided by Airmid's Gift Enhancement this time was truly formidable.
"I estimate my next attack will be at least three times stronger," Mika mused, feeling the energy of the aura surrounding him.
In his eyes, Airmid's Nen ability held limitless potential.
However, it was currently limited by her total aura capacity.
Airmid's Enhancement worked in stages.
Each subsequent enhancement consumed significantly more aura than the previous one.
While Gabriel's support provided Airmid with a near-infinite supply of aura, her total aura capacity acted as a ceiling for her Enhancement's power.
"Airmid's ability is somewhat similar to Issei Hyoudou's 'Boosted Gear.' It could certainly be developed in that direction in the future," Mika thought to himself.
"Increasing the power of each enhancement, reducing the aura cost per enhancement, and expanding her aura capacity – all of these would dramatically increase Airmid's strength."
"It's a truly promising path!"
As the enhancement process concluded, Airmid released Mika's hand and stepped back slightly, as if to see him off.
Just then, Mellie, who had been standing behind Airmid, stepped forward.
She faced Mika and said, "Unlike Airmid, I don't have many blessings to enhance your strength."
"So, the only blessing I can offer is this."
With that, she reached out, wrapped her arms around Mika's neck, and kissed him on the lips, much to the surprise of both Mika and Airmid.
Their lips touched for only a few seconds before Mellie quickly pulled away, her face flushed.
"Don't get any ideas. It's just a blessing," she mumbled.
"Ah, I know," Mika replied, glancing at the blushing Mellie and the eager Airmid. "I've received your blessings."
"I will achieve victory and return."
With a firm nod, Mika turned and walked towards the daunting aura in the distance.
That was where Gilgamesh had chosen as their battlefield.
Hearing his words, Airmid and Mellie snapped out of their romantic daze and shouted in unison, "Go for it, Mika!"
"I believe you can win!"
"Defeat him!"
As their voices continued to echo behind him, Mika raised his arm and waved to them without turning back.
He walked steadily towards the final battlefield, his footsteps crunching on the rubble-strewn ground.
Looking at the utter devastation, it was hard to imagine that this had once been a modern city.
Everything had been destroyed in the Holy Grail War.
Fortunately, Tokiomi Tohsaka hadn't completely lost his sanity. Before launching his attack, he had used a Bounded Field to evacuate the nearby residents.
Otherwise, countless lives would have been lost in this battle.
"But what excuse will the Holy Church use this time? They can't blame it on a gas explosion again, can they?"
"Actually, it's not impossible. They could claim they detected a gas leak and promptly evacuated the residents, preventing any casualties."
"But if they handle it that way, they'll spend a considerable amount of time altering memories."
"The Holy Church certainly has its work cut out for it."
Lost in thought, Mika soon came into Gilgamesh's view.
"You thief, you've finally arrived."
Sitting atop the highest pile of rubble, Gilgamesh looked down at Mika and chuckled.
Despite the deep animosity between them,
He acknowledged Mika's strength and intelligence.
Therefore, he no longer addressed him as "mongrel" or "cur," opting for the title "thief" instead.
In his eyes, Mika, who had dared to lay his hands on his treasures, was nothing short of a master thief.
"Yes, I've arrived," Mika replied, wondering if Gilgamesh had deliberately piled up the rubble beneath him to emphasize his superior status.
"Hahaha, good. I thought you were going to run away."
After landing, Gilgamesh had grown increasingly impatient as Mika failed to appear, nearly succumbing to rage.
But upon seeing Mika, his anger dissipated.
He also understood why Mika had taken so long.
"Such extravagant blessings and enhancements. Is this what you rely on to defeat me?"
"If so, I must say you've miscalculated."
"Even with these blessings, you cannot match the divine power of Ea."
Gilgamesh spoke with absolute conviction.
He was utterly confident that he could crush any opponent with Ea.
"You're certainly confident, King of Heroes."
"Is your Ea truly invincible? I doubt it. I want to test it."
"I want to see whether your 'Enuma Elish' is stronger than my 'Heavenly Fire: Annihilation'."
"What do you say? Shall we find out?"
Indeed, Mika's final trump card was his magic, Heavenly Fire: Annihilation.
As an ultimate magic that required self-sacrifice to maximize its power, even with Airmid's protection preventing his death, Mika had never used it before.
Therefore, he didn't know the true extent of its destructive capabilities.
But Mika was filled with confidence.
As a magic that grew stronger alongside his own power, it would always be his ultimate ace in the hole, no matter the situation.
