"A Devil's power truly is amplified in the darkness," he mused, feeling the surge of energy within him.
In recent days, Rias had been wholeheartedly supporting his study of Devil lore, much to Gabriel's delight.
After all, knowledge from other worlds was incredibly valuable to her.
However, this esoteric knowledge wasn't particularly useful to Mika, whose fighting style was more akin to a warrior's.
Perhaps such knowledge would be more beneficial to Mellie.
Regardless—his strength had been increasing rapidly, thanks to his Devil body.
Compared to an ordinary human, whose growth potential could be considered a 1, a Devil's potential was closer to a 10.
Without a compatible training system—humans could never match Devils.
Therefore, having gained Devil powers—Mika's strength was growing exponentially as he trained, exploring and refining his newfound abilities, pushing his potential to its limits.
However, this was a long-term process—not something achievable overnight.
Therefore, in his free time, he would sit atop a skyscraper, attuned to the flow of demonic energy within him, his senses expanding outwards.
A smirk touched his lips—He had just spotted Issei, riding his bicycle through the streets of Kuoh Town, his face a mask of frustration as he repeatedly knocked on doors—unable to gain entry.
Mika was observing him through [Observation Haki], one of the [Haki] abilities he had acquired during his brief visit to the One Piece world.
[Observation Haki] allowed the user to sense the presence and intentions of others, even beyond their line of sight. It could reveal the location, number, and even the next move of their opponents. In a way, it was similar to [Transparent World] and Circle (Enhanced Zetsu).
However, [Observation Haki] had one distinct advantage: its range. Once mastered, its range could extend for vast distances.
Mika's current range covered nearly half of Kuoh Town—and it would continue to expand, providing him with a powerful long-range sensory ability.

That evening, Mika and the others gathered at the Occult Research Club.
He leaned back against the sofa, watching Rias scolding Issei.
"You are not to go near the church!" she ordered sternly.
"For us Devils, a church is enemy territory. Simply stepping inside could create problems between the Devil and Church factions. Besides, it's constantly monitored by Angels."
"This time—they likely overlooked your actions because you were helping that nun. But don't expect such leniency next time. They could easily strike you down with a spear of light."
Issei's head drooped lower and lower as he listened, realizing how close he had come to death.
Mika, however, was suddenly enlightened.
'So it's that time already—'
This must be when Issei first encountered Asia Argento—the nun, and escorted her to the church.
'It seems the battle with the Fallen Angels is approaching.'
He remembered the next part of the plot. Issei would encounter Asia several times, their bond deepening—
Eventually—he would fight to protect her, leading to a confrontation between Rias's peerage and the Fallen Angels. Rias's side would, of course, emerge victorious, and Asia would become her Bishop.
"Asia Argento—" he mused, a subtle smile playing on his lips.
He wasn't particularly interested in her. What intrigued him was her current affiliation—the Fallen Angels.
As fallen Angels, they could still wield the power of light, which was incredibly effective against Devils. This made Mika curious.
'Could I master the power of light?' he wondered. After all, his [Falna] was derived from Yahweh's Divine blood.
In a world with a God—perhaps he possessed some…divine potential.
He was, after all—a child of Yahweh.

"The same applies to anyone associated with the Church. Avoid contact with them. Especially Exorcists; they are our sworn enemies. Those blessed by God possess the power to destroy us, especially Exorcists wielding [Sacred Gears]. Encountering them is practically a death sentence."
"If a Devil is subjected to an exorcism ritual, they will be completely annihilated, with no chance of resurrection. Do you understand?"
Issei nodded—sobered by Rias's serious tone. Complete annihilation was a scary prospect—Unlike humans, whose lives were finite, Devils possessed eternal life. They wouldn't die unless killed.
Seeing that he understood, Rias nodded in satisfaction.
He was a novice, after all.
Mistakes were inevitable.
With proper guidance, he would learn.
She turned her gaze towards Mika, who was deep in thought.
Unlike Issei, he rarely made mistakes.
"They're so different—" she mused.
"Rias." Akeno's voice interrupted her thoughts.
"What is it, Akeno?" She turned, noticing the serious expression on Akeno's face.
"Rias—We've received an extermination request."

With the rise of reincarnated Devils—Another type of Devil had also emerged: Stray Devils.
When a reincarnated Devil betrayed or killed their master, they became a Stray Devil, hunted by all Devil factions.
Some would go into hiding, while others, corrupted by their power, would wreak havoc in the human world.
Stray Devils were considered a threat not only by Devils but also by Angels and Fallen Angels, who would eliminate them on sight.
The extermination request Rias had received was for a Stray Devil that had entered Kuoh Town.
As the Devil responsible for this territory, maintaining its safety was her duty.

A magic circle glowed, and Mika, Rias, and her peerage materialized outside a dilapidated building, overgrown with weeds.
It was a desolate, deserted area.
"According to our intel, this Stray Devil lures humans here at night and…consumes them," Akeno explained.
"A man-eating Devil?!" Issei whispered, shocked by the brutality of the supernatural world.
"I smell blood," Koneko said, wrinkling her nose in disgust as she covered her mouth with her sleeve.
A subtle smile played on Rias's lips. She led the way into the ruins.
"A Stray Devil—a perfect opponent for Mika and Issei to experience a real Devil battle," she said with a light laugh.
Issei paled, but Mika's eyes lit up—
"Buchou, could I handle this one? I'm quite interested in Stray Devils. And I'm eager for a good fight!" As a closet battle maniac, he had been itching for action since arriving in this world.
"Alone?" Rias considered his request. She would have immediately refused anyone else, but Mika—she was curious about his abilities. While he possessed the aura of a strong warrior and a powerful Sacred Gear—he lacked practical experience. And experience was crucial.
She decided to test him. After all, her engagement to Riser could be enforced at any time. Mika wouldn't have many opportunities for real combat before then.
"Very well. I'll leave this to you. Akeno and I will be nearby, ready to intervene if necessary. You can fight without holding back."
"Thank you."
He turned and walked towards the building.
"Buchou, are you sure it's alright to let him fight alone?" Yuuto asked, worried.
Koneko also looked at Rias with concern.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine," she reassured them.
"Good luck—Mika!" Issei shouted.
"I'll be back," Mika replied with a smile, waving as he continued his advance.
"I'll devour you whole!" A grotesque voice echoed from within the ruins.
A naked female torso emerged from the darkness. While it might have seemed alluring at first glance, its monstrous lower body—a beast-like form with four thick legs and sharp claws—quickly dispelled any such notions. The creature, standing over five meters tall, wielded a spear-like weapon in each hand.
Mika felt a wave of disgust wash over him. The creature was truly monstrous.
"I'll devour you and savor your flesh, Brat!" Viser, The Stray Devil, roared.
"I've suddenly lost my appetite." Mika raised his hand, and a brilliant light coalesced in his palm, forming [Radiant Spear].
"Let's end this quickly," he said, his voice cold and hard.
"!!!" Viser lunged, swinging her spears at him.
Mika parried the blow with—[Radiant Spear], effortlessly slicing through one of her weapons.
"What a fool!" Yuuto chuckled. He had sparred with Mika after he joined Rias's peerage. As the wielder of Sword Birth—he could create any kind of demonic sword.
However, he wouldn't dare clash with Mika's spear directly.
He knew firsthand the sharpness of [Radiant Spear].
"Now, perish!" Mika lunged, his movements too fast for the others to follow.
"He's fast! Even faster than me," Yuuto exclaimed, astonished. He was a Knight, enhanced for speed, while Mika was a Rook, focused on offense and defense.
Yet, Mika's speed surpassed his own.
Before Yuuto could process his surprise, Mika appeared beside Viser—his spear flashing.
He severed both her legs.
She roared in pain and stumbled—losing her balance.
Mika seized the opportunity—his spear piercing her skull.
