I waited.
For hours, hoping that she would turn around tell me she didn't mean it . That she didn't mean what she said but she never did. She left without looking back. Not once.
I sat there, by the bench in front of the restaurant, in the rain until my legs began to feel as numb as my heart, the only difference was—my heart was beating and moving but I couldn't move my legs.
I didn't notice someone was seated beside me until he spoke up, dusting his wet palms on his trouser pants.
"She left?" He asked, ruffling his hair to get all the water out.
"I couldn't bring myself to tell her" I worded out, closing my eyes as the burning sensation reached a peak behind my eyelids.
Yaskier sighed, his eyes searching my face as I stared in the empty street. "Are you okay".
