A small smile decorated my lips as I stared at the text displayed on my phone screen. I had sent Yavannah a text this morning to ask her if she was okay, and she replied quite sweetly, even sending a heart and sparkle emoji.
I wanted this meeting to be over so I could find an excuse to go to Viva La Vida and see her. I wanted to see her face so badly. Well, not technically spy—it's my building after all. I can do whatever I want.
"Yavannah, what are you doing here?" I heard Sandro's voice call out, surprise lacing his tone. My heart rate immediately spiked as I looked up, searching across the room for her slender silhouette.
My vision was greeted with nothing but the wide expanse of the meeting table and a large screen displaying a PowerPoint presentation.
A scowl made its way to my face as I turned to look at his smug and proud expression. Yaskier chuckled from where he sat, reaching out to give Sandro a high-five.
