Chapter 17 - Escape?

"No, no don't come near me, my junior brother is a powerful Grandmaster in the 'Red hand' department" it was now that he know what real fear is.

"If you dare touch me he's going to chase you till you die." As if gotten his confidence, victor threatened Eric.

"Grandmaster? Puzzled, Eric turned to his mother and Arin for answer but found them dump founded with fear and astonishment on their faces.

"Are they strong? Or a little stronger than these thugs? Eric expressed his thoughts outwardly as he found his mother shaking from real fear.

"Er..Eric..Le.. let's go " his mother said hurriedly as she tried to appear calm whiles walking towards Eric.

Arin followed suit while shaking all over "Bro, let's go, we can't go against a Grandmaster, not even when all the resistance In this city attacks together"

" A Grandmaster..huh?, Are they the real cultivators? Eric wondered as he didn't expect his companions to be really afraid of the mere distinction of a Grandmaster.

"Well, let me leave them a gift then" Eric's eyes sparkled as he thought of a certain technique from the countless memories he had inherited.

And so he moved to achieve that.

He moved a little more to stand face to face with the now goody-goody face of victor then pat his shoulder as if encouraging him.

"Be good next time"

Diana, Eric's mother heaved a sigh of relief as she saw Eric didn't choose the other option or so they all thought.

But unbeknownst of them, a faint golden brilliance emerge from Eric's hand upon contact with Victor as his golden core energy sank into the existence of this being.

"Let's go he commanded faintly with a smirk that made Victor trembled.

They stood at the edge of the rooftop of the 100plus floored skyscraper.

"So how do we go from here, where are we going?

Eric questioned absentmindedly as his focus was on victor to see whether he had sense any abnormality in his body.

But after getting no answer, Eric turned to gaze at his companions but they were all looking down with a weird expression.

"We can't jump this, we would become pancakes on the floor"

Arin was the first to react as he said while shaking his head.

" But you guys said a Martial Grandmaster is coming, yet you can't even run?

"But we can't go back into the building else we would be surrounded again by that many guards in there"

Diana added.

Eric looked at them with a smirk then said "well, then help me to shout ..'Mayday...."

"Mayd... AHHHHH""Ahhh"

Before they could understand what Eric meant, he hugged them, then jumped from the rooftop, as they nearly fainted from fright.

The air whistles and memories resurged, but Eric became calm as he invoked his golden core energy.

Their descent became slower as they neared the ground, but the two fellows was still shouting until they sensed the speed of their descent decrease.

Suddenly, Eric perceived something with his spirit sense.

"What..?A brightly shining sun?..No a person that's brimming with so much vigor that he seems like a burning mass of fire" Eric thought aloud in disbelief.

"What are you talking about? Diana, Eric's mother asked as she heard him mumble.

"There's no time, lets escape" Eric's expression was grave as he dashed towards an alleyway in his fastest speed, but..

"Junior, since you here, why go, come, accompany this old man to a cup of coffee"
