"Rin..., is everything alright? Why did you call me this late at night?" Maria's voice was groggy, laced with sleepiness.
"Maria, who is Void's father?" Rin's voice trembled with worry and stress, the weight of unspoken fears hanging in the air.
"Who is Void's father? My husband, of course, hehe..." Maria chuckled, still half-asleep.
"Maria, I'm serious. Do you know what his father used to look like?" Rin's tone grew sharper, urgency and concern clear.
Maria rubbed her eyes, shaking off the remnants of sleep. "According to my research," she began, her voice becoming more alert. She walked towards the framed photograph of her estranged husband. "Those who I killed were not his real parents." Her gaze lingered on a picture of an infant. "I realized that when Void was ten, after that assassination attempt. When he picked up his mother-in-law's sword and used it, I knew he wasn't their son."
Rin's hands trembled. "Wait, Miss Frost! You mean he is...!" Her eyes widened as she stared at a photo of a boy from her past, standing beside her younger self.
"Yeah, he is Winter's child, my child, who was taken away from me!" Tears streamed down Maria's cheeks.
Rin, who had harbored suspicions, felt a mix of emotions. "So he is my childhood crush and your ex-husband's child!" Rin smiled, a bittersweet expression crossing her face. "Good for you that your long-lost child came back to you and is ready to do anything for you."
"Yeah, but don't reveal this to him. He must never know this truth!" Maria's voice turned threatening as she wiped her tears.
"Alright, alright! After all, he's my daughter's man. I can't make a mistake here!" Rin chuckled softly.
Maria let out a small laugh, lightening the mood. "Thanks, Rin. For everything. Now I'll go to sleep. I have many things to do tomorrow as my child will be coming back." She ended the call.
Rin looked out of the window, staring at the full moon. "So you're really the blood of Middletown. I won't deny that fact, as you really have his face and charm while Maria's personality! Void Middletown!"
"Isn't the moon beautiful tonight, Father?" The voice of a young woman, around 21, broke the silence. A man stood by the window, his ice-crystal eyes fixed on the full moon.
"Are the preparations done, my daughter?" he asked, his voice calm but authoritative.
"Yes, Father. He is at the Takahashi's territory and will leave tomorrow. We have a great chance to shake the Northern Empire and the Western Empire, ruled by those two mafia lords," she replied, bowing her head. Her black round glasses hid her abyss-like black eyes, and her long white hair touched the floor as she bowed, her dragon horns prominent in her black and white battle gown.
"Finally, after years of patience, I can achieve the greatest strength! I'll show them the true power of darkness!" The man's sinister laughter echoed through the chamber, the eerie air thickening.
The girl left the room, her thoughts consumed by vengeance. "Only because mom accepted you, Winter Frost! I can't forget the day you killed my father to get close to her! And later, acting like you did nothing!" She opened a pendant, revealing her father's photo. "You have no right to become my father. This filthy being called a man should've disappeared from this world! Tomorrow you'll realize when you'll kill your very own child. The despair, the abyss you'll fall into will be my justice, my vengeance!"
As she walked, a butler accidentally bumped into her, spilling tea on her dress. "I'm sorry, milady, I was just..." he stammered, trying to clean the mess.
"Keep your filthy hands away, you bastard! Don't you dare touch me, or I'll peel your skin alive!" she snarled, pushing him aside.
"Men, this whole being must be eradicated from this world! Void Middletown! You won't be able to go back to see your mother because I, Zoe Lunaria, will end your life tomorrow and avenge my father's death!" Her determination was unwavering.
Meanwhile, Void slept peacefully, unaware of the impending danger. He believed he was safe, as no events in the game could lead to his demise yet. Casually, he snuggled into his futon, oblivious to the three pairs of eyes watching him, Cassey, Arcane, and Aoi, cuddling him."Void, wake up! what the heck you're doing in this world wake up!"
note:- narrator is frustrated and jealous over the life of Void so please bear with it
"Where are you taking my child?! Stop there! Where are you taking him? Stop! Stop!" Void woke up with a start, drenched in sweat. "What the...?" He realized it was Mother Maria crying for him in his dream. "I don't think the character was ever so connected to her to get such dreams!"
Aoi, half-asleep, raised her head. "What happened, Void? Let's sleep again, shall we? We have to eat yumochis together, hehe..." She snuggled back into him.
"Yeah, I should go back to sleep," Void muttered, but then noticed something. "Why are all three of you in my futon?!" He was shocked, annoyed, and embarrassed all at once.
"Ahh! Just because of my vision problem, I'm letting three of you do whatever. I'll see you tomorrow!" Void sighed, falling back to sleep.
