Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Captain Gnar

Gnar was a time traveler who did not belong to the world of pirates.

Five years ago, Gnar, who was not yet known by that name, inexplicably found himself in the comic book world of One Piece.

To be honest, he didn't quite understand it at first. Although he was somewhat of an anime fan and read some Japanese comics, he had lost interest in One Piece after the disappointing Wanokuni arc. He only watched Jin's videos for entertainment when he was bored.

Therefore, he found it ironic that the God of Time Travel chose someone like him, who had lost his enthusiasm for One Piece, to enter this world. But that's what happened.

After arriving in the One Piece world, he assumed a new identity: Gnar, an ordinary 11-year-old boy living on an island called Hat Island in West Blue. He owned a small fishing boat and survived by fishing.

His new life was simple—so simple that he only had a first name, no last name, not even a "D," and no cheat abilities or systems.

However, perhaps as compensation from the God of Time Travel, three days after arriving in the One Piece world, while diving for a living, he found a sunken ship at the bottom of the sea. Inside, he discovered a relatively intact box containing a blood-red Devil Fruit.

Without hesitation or concern about the fruit's potential uselessness, Gnar ate the Devil Fruit. He soon realized how lucky he was.

The fruit's power was one he recognized well: the Bat-Bat Fruit, Model: Vampire, a Mythical Zoan fruit that allowed Baloric Redfield, known as the Aloof Red, to contend with Roger and Whitebeard alone.

Upon eating it, Gnar gained the ability to transform into countless vampire bats, fly, and become an elemental entity. With such a rare and powerful ability, Gnar decided to train hard.

He soon discovered that his luck was even better than he had imagined. Perhaps due to his status as a time traveler, developing his Devil Fruit abilities was surprisingly easy. Whatever he could imagine, he could achieve.

Thus, he developed new abilities that weren't in the original storyline. For instance, he could absorb blood to enhance his vitality and physical strength, not just extend his lifespan as the original fruit did.

With this ability, Gnar spent five years using his small fishing boat to sneak close to the Calm Belt and absorb the life force of countless giant Sea Kings. This made his physique incredibly strong, to the point where ordinary weapons, including bullets and cannons, couldn't even scratch him.

This made Gnar feel invincible.

Additionally, he could control his blood to create various clones and items. Since these were made from his blood, the clones possessed part of his wisdom and abilities, similar to Charlotte Linlin's Homies created with her Soul-Soul Fruit.

Finally, he could perform something akin to a vampire's first embrace—injecting his blood into others to control their thoughts and actions.

Gnar's abilities made him increasingly like a vampire, though he wasn't afraid of sunlight, only seawater.

But the most terrifying aspect of his fruit's power was something he discovered by chance: it worked on other Devil Fruit users too. By absorbing the blood of Devil Fruit users, Gnar could gain their abilities. However, there were restrictions.

The absorbed abilities could only be used by his blood clones, not by Gnar himself. He didn't know if this would change with further development or awakening of his vampire fruit, but for now, this limitation stood.

Even so, this was enough for Gnar, making him question whether he had truly eaten the Bat-Bat Fruit, Model: Vampire, or some unknown Devil Fruit created by his desires as a time traveler.

Whatever the case, Gnar didn't dwell on it. After gaining great power and the freedom to roam West Blue, he found himself a bit lost in life. He had no interest in becoming the Pirate King or defeating the Celestial Dragons. But he needed something to pursue.

A year ago, with his newfound power, he gave up fishing and started a comfortable life by robbing pirates and slave traders. During this time, he encountered a pirate group that had captured Nico Robin, the Devil's Child born in West Blue.

Upon seeing the slim, seductive Robin, Gnar found his first life goal in this world. He appeared before her, killed the pirates, and proposed a deal: he would protect Robin in exchange for her becoming his woman until she chose to end the agreement.

Surprisingly, Robin agreed without much hesitation. They had lived together since then, maintaining a purely physical relationship.

Until a month ago...

Robin learned about the existence of a Poneglyph in Alabasta on the Grand Line. She wanted to go there, but she didn't end her deal with Gnar because she knew she needed his strength to approach the Poneglyph.

So, she used her charm to convince Gnar to accompany her to the Grand Line.

Unbeknownst to Robin, on their first night together, Gnar had hugged her, allowing him to sense her thoughts and feelings.

Gnar didn't mind being used because he understood one thing after getting Robin. This world was no longer bound by law and morality. In this chaotic sea, as long as he had power, he could get everything he wanted...
