Daniel walked inside the house after parking his car in the garage and didn't see Sophia around. He looked in the living area and the dining room but didn't see her. Aunt Marry was around though.
"Where is Sophia?", Daniel asked Aunt Marry when he didn't find his wife around.
"Sir, Madam is in the room. She hasn't come out for dinner yet.", Aunt Marry replied and Daniel walked upstairs without a word. He entered their bedroom and saw Sophia sitting on the couch and scrolling her phone feeling bored.
"What are you doing?", Daniel asked coming close to her face. Sophia was startled listening to his voice so close. She didn't even notice when he entered the room.
"You scared me.", Sophia said patting her heart. Daniel looked at her big eyes that were glaring at him for scaring her and he smiled.
"Sorry. I didn't know that I would startle you.", Daniel said and Sophia just shook her head.
"I was waiting for you, since you said you will come soon.", Sophia said, giving second surprise of the day. He smiled at her and wanted to hug her but he didn't. He was content with the progress of their relationship and he didn't want to ruin it with a wrong move.
"I will freshen up and then we can have dinner.", Daniel said and Sophia nodded in approval. Daniel quickly took a shower and slipped into his home clothes and came out. His hairs were still wet and he was wearing a white t-shirt and black trousers. Sophia was sitting on the couch only checking some mails when she heard the bathroom door open.
Sophia looked over and her gaze was fixed on his perfect shaped body which was a result of his heavy workout. Sophia ogled her husband and Daniel stood still for a second seeing her checking him out. Daniel smirked and walked slowly towards her and stood in front of her.
"You can even touch, you know. I am your husband only not anyone else's.", Daniel said while suppressing his chuckle. His words brought Sophia out of her reverie and she averted her gaze.
"I wasn't looking at you.", Sophia said clearing her throat and looking down at the phone screen which was all black. Daniel saw it and laughed making Sophia look up at him.
"What?", Sophia said in a challenging tone.
"Nothing. Let's go have out dinner.", Daniel said trying to change the topic not wanting to anger his wife who missed him.
Sophia nodded and stood up. They both walked downstairs and had their dinner. After they were done with the dinner, Sophia asked "Would you like to watch a movie?"
"Sure. Let's go.", Daniel said extending his hand to her which Sophia took naturally and they both walked towards the theatre room.
"What movie do you want to watch?", Daniel asked after Sophia sat on the reclined couch and Daniel switched on the screen. He sat beside Sophia with a remote, ready to put on any movie she asked for.
"The Notebook.", Sophia said as she loved the movie. This movie tells the story of a summer romance that turns into a romance never to be forgotten.
"Okay", Daniel happily complied. He put on the movie and put the remote aside. Sophia folded her legs on the couch and put a pillow on her lap.
She inclined herself into Daniel's arms who happily provided her the back support and half back hugged her. They watched the movie for some time and later as the movie progressed into the sad moments, Daniel felt Sophia's mood dropping with it. He passed her a glass of juice and Sophia chucked it down feeling depressed.
When the movie almost ended and the scene of them dying peacefully into each other's arms was being played, Sophia was crying by then and Daniel was passing her tissues. Daniel found himself in a helpless situation where he didn't know how to make Sophia stop crying as her tears were hurting him too.
Daniel picked Sophia with his hand that was earlier wrapped around her and made her sit on his lap. He then hugged her back and started caressing her head while rocking her in his arms like a small child.
Sophia buried her face in the crook of his neck and sobbed lightly.
"If I knew that you would end up crying then I wouldn't have put on the movie earlier. I don't like to see tears in your eyes. Please stop crying.", Daniel spoke in a soothing voice.
"Why has it to be so sad? Couldn't she remember him? Why was God so unfair to the couple?", Sophia asked in a muffled voice. Daniel was choosing his words, trying not to make her feel sadder.
"But their love was remembered, right? Moreover, Noah's memories were enough for both of them. That's how partners are. They complete each other.", Daniel spoke and Sophia pulled herself out of his arms and looked at him, still sitting on his lap. Daniel wrapped his arms around her waist so that she won't end up falling due to her movements.
"What if I forgot you one day?", Sophia asked and Daniel gave her no expressions that she expected. He wasn't surprised by her question at all. Daniel was calm as he has loved her for years without her being even aware of his existence. So, it won't be hard for him to guard their memories if she did end up forgetting him one day. He will always love her and protect her, till his last breath.
"If you won't remember me then I will make you fall for me again and again. I told you that if you married me then there was no escaping. I won't let you go, ever.", Daniel spoke with so much love and sincerity in his eyes that Sophia was stunned listening to his words. Sophia blinked her eyes and thought 'Why do I feel like he is confessing to me?'
"Don't overthink. Your brain will be tired.", Daniel said flicking her forehead lightly and Sophia glared at him while putting her right palm against her forehead.
'He is just mocking me. And here I thought he was confessing to me. Hmph!', Sophia thought and started wiggling in his arms as she wanted to move out of his laps.
"What are you doing?", Daniel asked tightening his hold on her.
"Let me go. You don't have to talk to a dimwit.", Sophia said in an offended tone.
