The venue was beautifully decorated with white and pink flowers. There were rows of chairs kept in front of the stage where the groom and the bride would be standing soon to take their wedding vows.
The entrance was bustling with activity. Rows of luxurious cars can be seen which indicated the arrival of the guests.
The groom was no where to be seen. His parents Mr. And Mrs. Wilson were looking worried. They were trying to call his phone which was ringing but no one picked it up.
"Your son better not ruin it. The Miller family is very rich and they can be of great help to our business.", Mr. Wilson said growling under his breath.
"How would I know what Liam is thinking? I also accepted that girl Sophia reluctantly even though I don't like her a bit.", Mrs. Wilson spoke with a scowl on her face.
"Watch your words.", Mr. Wilson said looking around. "Don't let anyone hear your words. We need this wedding to take place today. So you better watch yourself till the wedding is over.", he added in a warning tone.
"Alright. I heard you. Stop bickering with me and contact Liam.", Mrs. Wilson said uninterestedly.
Mrs. Wilson was internally thinking that it would be better if Liam didn't show up today. She doesn't want to make Sophia her daughter-in-law at all. Her son deserves so much better than that snobbish girl who can't even follow her command.
On the other hand, a couple with a worried face was standing near the stage, looking at the wedding decorations around. Today their daughter, Sophia Miller is getting married.
The groom is Sophia's college time boyfriend and last month they got engaged. Even though the Miller couple wasn't satisfied with the man and his family that their daughter chose, they still respected her decision. And today, finally the marriage is going to take place.
They invited their family and friends last minute as they tried to change Sophia's decision but when they couldn't change her mind they could only helplessly arrange for the wedding.
The preparations were so haste that they didn't even print the wedding cards and just gave everyone a call. Whoever was a available on such short notice, made it to the wedding as the Miller family has always been respected in the society, so no one wanted to bail out on them.
Mostly, everyone was puzzled about the wedding taking place in such a way but they didn't show their doubts on their faces.
"Do you think our daughter will be happy with that man?", Anna Miller asked her husband looking worried.
"We can't do anything, this is her decision. All we can do right now is stand by her side and not make her feel like we don't care about her just because we don't trust the man of her choice.", Edward Miller spoke, holding his wife's hand trying to ease her worries.
"Mom, he is still not here. Is he planning to run away?", Noah Miller asked walking towards Edward and Anna.
Noah was feeling exasperated even at thought of Liam Wilson abandoning his sister right before marriage. But then suddenly he felt, it was rather a wonderful idea. 'That Liam Wilson, the two-faced bastard could better not show up now than ruining his sister's life. And if he does show up then why don't I kidnap him and throw him somewhere far away.', he thought deeply and his mind started forming a way to kidnap Liam.
He was still cheering himself for his brilliant mind when his mother's voice brought him to reality.
"He should come. After all your sister loves him so much. And if he doesn't then your sister would probably feel very devastated.", Anna said to him as if reminding him not to do anything stupid or it would end up hurting Sophia.
Noah felt dejected but still prayed that Liam doesn't show up today. In fact, after his question, Anna and Edward too felt it would be better if Liam ends up ghosting out. They feel that it's better being a laughing stock among the guests than seeing their daughter in an unhappy marriage.
They were still immersed in their thoughts here and there the bride Sophia was grinning ear-to-ear. Sophia was very happy today. She could finally marry the man she loved since college days.
When she first joined college as a freshman, she wasn't friends with many people. Her only friend were Emily Johnson and Jessica Brown. She wanted to keep a low profile in college so no one knew that she was daughter of the Miller family, one of the wealthiest businessman family of the States.
Once she was dropped by her father's driver in his Rolls Royce. Her photo was clicked by someone and posted on college forum, branding her a mistress of some rich man.
She wasn't used to of looking at college forum, so she didn't notice the post. Everyone around her gave weird and mocking looks. She was really confused seeing all this. Emily was on leave that day and Jessica too looked at her with judgemental eyes.
It was Emily who called her after she saw the post and told her about things. Sophia was shocked to the least. So, by the time she came to know about the post,it was too late and it was already seen by almost every student.
She was going to reveal the identity of the car owner when someone removed the post on the forum and the person who uploaded it, came forward to apologize for falsely accusing her and the matter got resolved after the poster was awarded demerit by the college.
She asked around trying to find who helped her out and stumbled upon Liam's dorm. She stood outside and knocked it and Liam opened the door. She softly asked him if he was the one who helped her who just gave her a nod with hesitation on his face.
Liam helped her when she wasn't even expecting anyone to stand up for her. She asked him why would he help her? But he didn't explain and just said 'it was nothing'. But for her, that nonchalant attitude of his even though he helped her out, made her feel like he is such a gentleman that he didn't ask for any favour from her in exchange.
That was when she started noticing him and she soon felt that he was really a sweet and kind person who wasn't rude to anyone.
She said yes when he asked her to be his girlfriend and now they are finally getting married.
She was lost in her thoughts when her phone chimed and she looked at the screen coming out of her dreamland. Her face lost its colour looking at the text she just received.
