Shortly after Minato spoke, Uchiha Fugaku arrived at the Hokage's office.
"Lord Hokage, what urgent matter requires my presence?" Fugaku asked directly, his face showing a hint of confusion. He didn't expect the Hokage to summon him at this time.
As soon as Fugaku entered, Kakashi looked at him. Compared to Sasuke's recollections, Fugaku appeared younger and more imposing. Kakashi sensed Fugaku's strength immediately.
Noticing Kakashi's gaze, Fugaku seemed to sense a familiar kekkei genkai. He turned to Kakashi, and his eyes widened in surprise.
"The Sharingan..."
"How dare this brat from the White Fang take a Uchiha's Sharingan!"
Fugaku exclaimed in shock, his face contorting with anger. His eyes activated the three-tomoe Sharingan as he charged at Kakashi without hesitation. He couldn't tolerate seeing a Uchiha's Sharingan in a non-Uchiha.
In an instant, Fugaku closed in on Kakashi.
Seeing Fugaku's sudden attack, the Third Hokage and others couldn't help but react.
Kakashi's eyes narrowed, and he instinctively drew his broken blade to defend against Fugaku's attack.
"Not good!"
Kakashi realized too late that his blade was broken, resulting from his battle with the Iwa-nin Jonin.
Fugaku's kunai closed in on Kakashi's chest. Injured and unable to defend himself properly, Kakashi was in imminent danger.
At the crucial moment, Minato flashed before Kakashi, intercepting Fugaku's attack by grabbing his hands.
"Clan Head Fugaku, let's discuss this calmly. There are reasons for Kakashi receiving the Sharingan," Minato said, trying to diffuse the situation.
"Hmph! I don't care about the reasons. An Uchiha's Sharingan shouldn't be in the hands of an outsider. Unless he removes the eye, the Uchiha clan won't let this slide!" Fugaku declared, pulling away from Minato, his anger still palpable. He didn't care that they were in the Hokage's office.
"Fugaku, let's hear Kakashi's account of how he got the Sharingan," the Third Hokage interjected, his tone firm yet calm.
"Yes, Lord Hokage," Fugaku replied, though his expression remained stern. Internally, he had already decided to reclaim the Sharingan, regardless of what the Hokage said.
"This Sharingan was given to me by Obito before he died," Kakashi began, recounting the events that led to him receiving the eye.
As Kakashi spoke, he couldn't help but feel frustrated. Obito had given him the eye, yet now he had to explain himself and seek approval from the Uchiha clan.
"No wonder they got wiped out a few years later," Kakashi thought bitterly. However, he quickly refocused and finished his explanation.
"This idiot, even in death, gave away the Uchiha's Sharingan carelessly," Fugaku thought, cursing Obito silently. If Obito were before him now, Fugaku would have slapped him for such recklessness.
"Lord Hokage, even though Obito gave Kakashi the Sharingan, it's still a Uchiha kekkei genkai. We can't allow its secrets to be exposed to outsiders. Obito was just a child and didn't understand the implications. I'm sure you understand our concerns," Fugaku said firmly. "Therefore, I request that the Sharingan be returned to the Uchiha clan. We can help Kakashi find a replacement eye for his left socket."
"Fugaku, Obito died a hero for Konoha. We can't go against his dying wish," Koharu argued, her stance shifting from earlier.
Between Kakashi and Fugaku, the advisors preferred Kakashi, disliking the Uchiha clan's growing influence in Konoha.
"Yes, Fugaku, your concern is that Kakashi might reveal the Uchiha's secrets. I, the Third Hokage, guarantee that Kakashi will not disclose anything," the Third Hokage added, his voice calm yet authoritative.
"I also guarantee it as the Yellow Flash of Konoha," Minato echoed, his eyes bright. He knew their assurances carried significant weight in Konoha.
"This..."
Fugaku hesitated, not expecting the Hokage and Minato to back Kakashi so strongly. He frowned, caught in indecision.
