Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: “Boorg love killing monsters!”

The sun was out, birds were flying above them between the big, white, clouds. Max, Boorg, and Piggy walked down the road to Kingsport, their final location. Max didn't talk much, Boorg took the initiative, he kept singing the same song for hours now, it started to annoy Max, but he couldn't read the big guy so he kept his mouth shut to survive the travels.

"… with his giant sword slash, coming with a dash…"

The song didn't even make any sense, just some random words that in the best case rhymed, in the worst case, they didn't even rhyme nor did they make even a tiny bit of sense to Max.

"… Mage goes poof, Lion goes… uhm… ROAR!" Boorg continued singing.

"That's a very nice song, Boorg," Max said trying to make him stop singing, he couldn't take it anymore.

"Yes! Boorg write song!"

"Oink!" Piggy ran in front of them, attacking a lizard.

"Where did you find the pig?" Max asked.

"Boorg was in forest, fighting big scary monster! Boorg kills monster, Piggy comes out of monster. Piggy nice. Boorg takes Piggy. Now friends!" Boorg looked at Piggy with a smile on his face. "Piggy help Boorg. Piggy knows what to eat in wild, Boorg no more stomachache."

"That worked out great," Max said. "But it worries me how Piggy got out of this monster you fought. Did she get eaten?"

"Boorg don't know, only know Piggy good!"

"I trust you," Max looked at the Piggy fighting every small animal on the road. Could it be that Piggy is some monster that will kill them in their sleep? Max got worried a little bit, he will have problems sleeping now. "And what about you Boorg? What's your story friend?" Max realized Boorg liked the word "friend" he would shine with happiness every time Max would use it.

"Boorg born in mountains. Boorg's father human, mother giant! Boorg never met mother, but father teach Boorg everything to fight. Boorg's father stronger than Boorg, but he dead. Boorg left home and go adventure! Boorg happy now but miss father," he looked sad now, his whole mood ruined. Max could see that his father meant a lot to him, probably he grew up alone on the mountain with his dad and never had any friends. That's why he gets so happy when he meets new people and calls them their friends.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Boorg," Max said placing his hand on Boorg's elbow. On any other occasion, it would be on the person's shoulder, but Max couldn't reach it.

The giant sword on Boorg's back stood firm, the sun reflecting on it, while his axe on his hip kept following his every step, prepared to take out anyone that stood in his way.

"But your father is probably watching over you from a better place," Max gave Boorg a faint smile.

"He always with Boorg," Boorg smiled back, it seemed as if he understood what Max was trying to say.

They continued walking in silence for a while before Boorg started singing again, a new song it seemed. Max had to figure out something to talk to him to make him shut up.

"S-so," Max began, "what are you searching for in Kingsport?"

"Boorg go to school!" the giant looked happy and excited.

"That's… great!!" Max tried to look happy for him, but in all honesty, he was afraid for the other students. Boorg wasn't smart, that was evident, so he will be probably placed in the first grade with children. "The poor children," Max thought, "if they offend him they're going through the fucking window. If they accept him to this school of his, or if it even exists."

"Boorg become smart, and Boorg become warrior."

"You have it all planned out big guy, I'm happy for you."

Piggy squealed once again and ran into the tall grass that surrounded the road. The tall grass moved as Piggy chased her prey.

"That pig is really aggressive," Max said.

"Piggy training hard!" Boorg said. "Piggy is warrior like Boorg."

"Did… Uhm… Piggy tell you that she is training?"

Boorg started laughing very loud, which was torture, but it wasn't as bad as when he started hitting Max on his back, making him fall head straight into the road. "Max funny! Piggy can't talk! Even Boorg know that! HA-HA-HA!!"

"Yeah…" Max stood up slowly, cleaning himself from the dirt. "A good joke," he laughed a little bit.

Piggy came running back from the tall grass, squealing uncontrollably. Boorg got onto one knee, to be closer to Piggy and nodded with his head. "Piggy say she find dungeon there! Let's go!"

Max stood there looking at Piggy running back into the tall grass, while Boorg followed, his whole torso stood out of the grass. "Didn't he say a second ago that Piggy can't talk? Did he just talk to a pig? Am I following a guy that talks to pigs?" He followed the guy who talks to pigs.

It wasn't hard to follow him, Boorg moved faster than he looked like, but he was so tall there was no way of losing him. A couple of steps later, Max saw Boorg stop, he hurried to catch up with him.

Max got out of the grass and was welcomed by trees surrounding a green portal that was supported by some black stones. In front of the portal, there were chains, and cages, in one of the cages a skeleton probably of a human, who knew what had happened to it.

The torches above the dungeon were lit with a blue flame, Boorg took two of the torches, handed one to Max, and took the other one for himself.

"Boorg love dungeon! Many monsters to kill and many loot to get!"

"I'm not really a fan," Max said. "Maybe I should wait for you to come out?"

"HA-HA-HA! Max funny!" Boorg slapped him over his back making him once again fall, this time into the portal.

Max groaned and slowly started to get up from the cold dungeon floor. The blue torch was next to him, he slowly picked it up trying to figure out what was around him, when something hit him in the back.

"Noo!" he screamed in pain, hitting the floor again. The stench of the monster that hit him made his eyes water up, that was definitely it and not tears because he was afraid that he would die.

"Oink!"

Max turned around, and on his back stood a pig, Boorgs pig, Piggy.

"You little shit! You scared me!" Max screamed at the pig.

"Oink, oink, oink!" the pig looked like it was laughing at Max.

"Wait a minute," Max said. "If you jumped out of the portal right at me, then…" his eyes became wide in fear. "Run!" he jumped out of the way just in time as he saw a giant silhouette of a man jumping out of the portal and landing in the same place Max was lying.

"Boorg!"

"That would probably have killed me," Max thought.

"Boorg loves smell of dungeon!" he took his axe and screamed.

"Shh…" Max tried to make him quiet. "We don't want them to know that we're here!"

"Why?" Boorg looked confused. "They hear Boorg, faster they come, faster dungeon end!"

Max could hear many steps from the darkness of the dungeon, running towards them. Boorg's tactic definitely worked, because half the dungeon knew that they were here, and they were coming to get them.

"Why am I always the one in danger?!" Max said as his hand began to burn.

He prepared his wand and stood behind Boorg. "You will have to do the most of the job big guy."

"Boorg love killing monsters!"

"I'm sure you do," Max said under his breath, he would rather run away now, but as soon as they got into the dungeon, the dungeon door closed, there was probably no way out until they cleared the dungeon completely.
