Chapter 7 - Chapter 5: Upcoming Opportunity.

Its around 1 PM.

I'm now sitting in my class listening to whatever Mr. Hart is yapping.

"Its been a week Arthur..."

"Where the hell are you?!"

"I'm bored without your company!"

I look over at the huge white tower that's in the middle of the city.

Suddenly Mr. Hart catches my attention.

"Oh I totally forgot!"

The whole class looks at the teacher.

He smiles because he finally caught their attention.

"I'm sure you all have heard of the incoming New World Anniversary festival."

"So basically, this class was chosen for the attractions this year."

A students stands up.

"Huh?!"

"Why our class?!"

The teacher scratches his chin and starts to speak sarcastically.

"Hmmm..."

"I don't know."

"Oh wait!

"Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this is the worst class in the history of this academy?"

Suddenly every student in the class looks at me with a judging look.

"No, No."

"Its not his fault."

"In fact Niente has the second best grades in this class, he is just behind Roxy."

The student from before looks at the teacher.

"Okay and?!"

"Power is the most important thing anyways!"

"Only power matters!"

"Not some stupid studying!"

"For example... uhh..."

"The Eleven! Yeah!"

"They're all strong as hell!"

The teacher starts giggling and after a moment he sighs.

"Without knowledge, its impossible to use mana."

"Control is knowledge, spells are knowledge, skill is knowledge."

"Everything is knowledge."

"Even The Eleven..."

"No..."

"Even the Creator himself would tell you that!"

The class falls into silence and the student sits down.

"Anyways."

"How many students we have?"

"One... two... three..."

"25 in total..."

"I will separate you all into 5 groups of 5."

A girl speaks up.

"Can't we just make our own groups?"

"Nope."

The teacher simply answers.

"So basically."

"Each group will make a different attraction for the festival."

"Of course you all can recruit anyone who's not in another group."

"So for example, if someone recruits a student from higher grade, the other groups cannot ask the already recruited student for help."

"Will there be any reward?"

Another student speaks up.

The teacher looks over at him and shoots him an mischevious smile.

"Of course there will be a reward!"

"Everyone from a group that will have the most visitors during the festival..."

"Will be ranked up by one rank."

The whole class gasps in surprise in amazement.

"RANK UP?!"

"OH MY FUCKING GOD... HAHA..."

"IT'LL BE SOO EASYY!"

"But..."

"Who I will be paired with?"

I look at the teacher and lock in.

"During the festival there will also be an tournament going on."

"The tournament has simple rules."

"One."

"Only students from first grade enter the tournament."

"Meaning that only this class can participate in it."

"Two."

"There will be two parts of the tournament."

"In the first part, it will be a normal tournament. Quarter-finals, Middle-final, and the Final."

"The second part of the tournament will start right after the first one."

"The rules are also simple, but listen carefully and make your decision, because there are only six spots available."

"The students who will lose in the first part will all participate in the second part."

"There will only be one round."

"It will be an free for all fight between the ones who lost."

"Now for the rewards and punishments."

"The first place in the first part of the tournament will receive a rank up and 100 pieces of gold."

"100?!"

(1 piece of gold/ 1 golden coin is about 100€)

The whole class is flabbergasted by this reward.

"The second place will not receive any punishment, but will get 20 pieces of gold."

"The third place, or in other words, the winner of the tournaments second part, will not fall in rank, but will receive 8 pieces of gold."

"Ranks of everyone placed lower will be lowered by one, but the one who will be on the last place..."

"Will be expelled."

My classmates all become worried when they hear that, okay not all but the most classmates.

The teacher then covers his mouth and yawns a little.

"So I give you all 5 minutes to decide whether you want to enter or not."

"And after all participants will be picked, I will say what people are assigned with each other on the festival."

The teacher sits down at his desk and looks at us.

I smile to myself in a gloomy and satisfied way.

"This is what I've been waiting for..."

"The perfect opportunity to use Lilith's mana to climb up ranks..."

I raise my hand.

The teacher looks at me with confusion.

"What is it, Niente."

Lilith's sinister giggle echoes throught my mind as I stand up.

"I want to participate in the tournament."

The teachers eyes widen and he looks at me with a mix of surprise and concern.

No, it's not just the teacher.

The whole class is surprised, I spot a few of my fellow classmates grinning.

"You sure?"

The teacher asks in an concerned tone.

"Yeah."

I answer with the gloomy smile still apparent on my face.

"Okay then."

The teacher stands up and writes my name down on the chalkboard.

After I volunteered to participate, the other five names appeared on the chalkboard in no time.

All the six names were: Niente, Edward, Liliana, Perthran, Cylix and Harold.

"Haha..."

"They think they're safe because I'm "The weakest in the history of this academy"..."

"...But..."

"They don't know about Lilith."

"I volunteered first, because I knew that some idiots who think that I will be on the last place, will volunteer..."

"Haha..."

"Its even easier than it was supposed to be now."

I feel Lilith's cold breath on my ear and her cold arms wrapping around my neck and her voice echoes throughout my mind.

"You know you're evil, Niente?"

"I'm not evil."

"I just want to achieve my dream as fast as possible."

I totally reject what she is implying.

The teacher looks at the whole class and grabs a list from his desk.

"Okay so now I will read the student groups, so listen carefully."

"Group one: Edward, Aliss, Sabeline, Aldebran and Melchior."

"Group two: Roxy, Cylix, Niente, Mirabelle and Elisabette."

"Group three: Leo, Reiner, Elysica, Roland and Giplin."

"Group four: Tedrick, Rosalia, Ahelis, Bethia and Lina."

"Group five: Malina, James, Davy, Tibout and Henry."

"And with that."

"The class is over, you all can go home, or to the cafeteria to plan the festival."
