It is the beginning of December, and the snow has fallen heavily. In order to keep the mansion warm, Belle and Braxton had to light the fireplace and turn on the heater each day. Together, they had to watch the weather forecast and learn about the devastating effects of the heavy snow on other cities and nations around the world. As she made herself some hot cocoa in the kitchen and Braxton watched the news in the parlor, she thought, "It is no wonder that excess of anything can be disastrous."
The year was coming to an end and she felt she had accomplished something. In just three months, she finished and published her first online book, which has received 10.45k views. She got married and is now a director in her mother's multibillionaire company, but those jerks are still unwilling to give her full control of the business. They are willing to make concessions, not because of her mother's will or the numerous lawsuits she has filed against them, but because they have recognized her abilities and have chosen to retain her. Despite not even planning for it, she seemed to have accomplished a lot this year. If someone had told her that she would accomplish all of these things a year ago, or even eight months ago, she would have found it hard to believe. She was gratified to God in some way. She is never been religious, but after seeing all the terrible things that have happened to her but have worked out for the best, she felt a great sense of gratitude for God. Perhaps she would start taking her service to him seriously. She is aware that there is a lot of philosophical discussion about the imaginary father.but if people can keep idols and believe it would work for them then why can't she.
She was so preoccupied with her thoughts that she did not realize Braxton was behind her.
"*Penny for your thought," he said, holding her by the waist. Braxton has changed over the last few weeks since his return. He behaves strangely, perhaps romantically, and she frequently questions whether this is just for their friendship or if there is more going on. It is possible he became aware of his feelings for her. But whenever that last part occurs to her, she immediately squashes it down. She is trying her hardest not to show her love for him, and she does not want to start thinking about those things. Thinking like that will not help either. She had read in a psychology book that if you start to believe that someone likes you, you will start to like them back without even realizing it. She adores Braxton, but she is not ready to give up her friendship with him. If he is content with their cordial relationship, it is not a problem for her.
Her mind went back to the question he asked
"Brax do you believe there's God?
After a while of silence, Braxton leaned in to place his jaw on her right shoulder and held her between his hands as he set them on the kitchen counter.
"I do not know Belle," he sighed first. "When I was younger, Alec used to take me to mass, but I never understood the philosophical concept of theodicy. But I believe there might be something wonderful, which has forced many to believe there must be a God out there."
Belle nodded to that. Even though she had never attended church in her life, she had no reason to doubt if the statements made about the greatness of this God were accurate. She is aware of numerous scientific assertions that demonstrate how everything is centered on revolution, but she will treat her beliefs as personal and idols rather than as something she must believe or that others may consider to be a myth or story. Yes, many people have idols, and she can have hers as well. The difference is that hers will be in her heart, whereas theirs may be materialistic, that is, physical. She don't know much about Christianity but she would ask her mother because why growing up in the orphanage she was a catholic as the orphanage was owned by the church. However, after marrying a "non-believer," as the religious would say, she ceased attending masses and focused all of her energy on caring for her careless husband and their kids.
. However, she was unable to comprehend that if her father had grown up in the same orphanage, where she was fairly certain he must have also been compelled to attend masses and other church-sponsored religious events, why did he label himself a "non-believer" as soon as he left the orphanage? Was it because he shared beliefs with some atheist scientists who reject the existence of God or the notion that all creatures were the product of a powerful imaginary being that had been used for centuries to perplex people? She would have to ask her mom when she gets back. She pondered whether classical thinkers like Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, and others must have heard of Christ as well, or if they were just philosophical myths like the Greek gods and goddesses that the modern world seems to believe in so strongly.and it was beyond her to understand how these scientists knew they existed and were able to contribute their quotes and ideas to the philosophy of life. It is possible that she is lacking in that area of knowledge. She would need to learn more about that because, as they say, readers are leaders.
She would need to reflect on her newfound faith in the interim because she does not want Braxton to think that she is going crazy like everyone else who believes in this God of hers. However, he is her god and her idol, and she does not care what others think of it. However, it would be disheartening if Braxton made fun of her recently discovered faith.
