Chapter 4 - Memories From The Past

Indra led Argus to his home, a secluded place nestled amidst lush greenery, with a spacious courtyard perfect for training. Indra's home was a sanctuary, a haven from the turmoil of the outside world. As they settled in, Indra prepared some refreshments, and they sat down to talk, getting to know each other better.

Indra poured them both a cup of tea, the warm aroma filling the air as they sat across from each other at a small table in the courtyard.

-Tell me, Argus, what was your life like before the ship incident?

-It was peaceful, simple. My dad was a warrior like you and my mom was a priestess. I had dreams of exploring the world, of seeing new places.

-What happened to them?

-Do you remember the time the Authority raided Etris with a huge army?

-Yes, i was one of the battlers there. It took a lot of work to push them back. I lost many of my friends…

-My parents… They tried to make time for me and my brother so we could escape. They sacrificed themselves for us. The clearest thing I remember is their screams when my elder brother Blake was holding my hand and taking me to somewhere else.

-It is really tough, Argus. For a child like you, these events must be devastating. What happened after that?

-Captain Orlandeu, was a friend of my father. He took me and my brother to somewhere safe with his ship until Etris was back to normal again. After that, he started taking care of us. We started staying with Captain Orlandeu, he was like a second father to us. He taught us the basics of ships and seas and when Blake turned 15 he went for his first ride with Captain. They didn't take me because I was too young. They started to work together after that, and when I turned 15… They took me too.

-Uh, I see… It was your first time experiencing it, and the worst time. What is your dream now, Argus?

-My dream? It would be beheading that damn Authority's commanders. The only thing i can think of right now is the ones i lost,

I can't do anything without avenging them.

-I understand your pain, Argus. I too have lost loved ones to the cruelty of war. But we must not let our anger consume us. We must use it as fuel, as motivation to fight for what is right.

As they talked, Indra shared stories of his past, of battles fought and friends lost. He spoke of his loyalty to Etrea and his determination to see justice prevail. Argus listened intently, his eyes reflecting the flickering light of the candles that adorned the table.

-You've seen so much, experienced so much pain. Yet you still fight. How do you find the strength?

-What do you think is the foundation of strength?

-I don't know. What is it?

-Strength comes from within, Argus. It comes from a deep-seated belief in what is right and a willingness to fight for it, no matter the cost.

Their conversation continued late into the night, the moon casting a soft glow over the courtyard as they shared their hopes and fears, their dreams and aspirations.

And as the first light of dawn broke over the horizon, they knew that they were not just allies, but kindred spirits, bound together by a shared purpose and a shared destiny.
