Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

I'm not sure whether it's all the ice-cream I ate or the movies I binged but surprisingly, I woke up feeling great, like just got a spa massage kind of great. It felt refreshing like nothing ever happened and I wished it could stay likes this... positive. I got up, did my usual morning rountine, grabbed a snack from the kitchen and left the house for the gym. Even though my uncle has a gym in his mansion, I just love going to the public gym a few miles away because you never know who you'll meet.

Doing my usual workout, I prayed that everything would just stay normal and peaceful but I guess by now I should have learnt that things don't usually go my way. I was in the middle of doing cardio feeling as pumped as ever when I suddenly, out of the blue, became dizzy. I stopped what I was doing, trying to find somewhere to sit but everything was so blurry and I crashed into something hard...really hard. I looked up to see the blurry image of some guy who lucky enough for me, caught me as I fell just before I hit the ground. The last thing I saw was a pair of hazel eyes and dark green hair before I fainted.

~~~~~~
"Uggh" I groaned as I woke up. My head hurt bad it felt like every blood vessel in it was throbbing. When things slowly became less blurry, I was finally able to make out the face above me and even though I didn't get a clear sight of him before, I knew it was the guy with the odd messy green hair I bumped into at Wally's yesterday. Now I say odd because it's really rare to find someone with green hair and his shade of green is quite odd.
"Oh good you're awake." He enthustically said sighing in relief... still leaning over me. "Yes I'm fine and you can stop staring now." I said grumpily and pushed his face away from mine as I sat up. "What the hell happened to me?" I groaned. "You fainted. Probably as a result of exhaustion or fatigue." He replied. "No it can't be exhaustion or fatigue, I felt completely fine before, pumped even.". "Okay, maybe you ate something that your stomach didn't agree with?". I thought about what he said but he couldn't the only thing I ate today was a cup of coffee and a slice of toast which is what I eat everyday before bitting the gym. I thought hard but I really couldn't come up with a reason and it really didn't make sense why I had suddenly fainted.
'What is wrong with me?! I just wanted a normal day, for my stars to align just this once God, why did something just have to go wrong?' Brushing my thoughts aside, I sat on the side of the bed and began putting on my sneakers. "You're leaving? You aren't even going to thank me for I... dunno saving you from getting a concussion?" He whined but as grateful as I was I really didn't have time for it, I needed to investigate on what caused me to faint. 'And besides I still feel like I have a concussion either way so not much saving done there.' I turned to explain to him but before I could speak he beat me to it.
"Hey I remember you, I knew you looked familiar. You're the girl who bumped into me at Wally's yesterday and made me drop my phone. My phone broke because of you and you didn't even apologise for it." He stated "Guess now we know you're not good at saying sorry either." He mumbled under his breath probably not knowing that I heard it. "You're joking right? How do you expect me to believe that. Do you have evidence?" I said feeling very skeptical.
He reached into the side pocket of his shorts and brought out a broken Iphone 15 "Now do you beleve me?". "Oh my God! I am so sorry, I didn't know your phone broke and I'd love to pay you back right now but I don't have cash on me at the moment." I said gesturing to my clothes. 'Yeah money isn't the kind of thing I'd bring to a gym.'. "It's okay.." He said with a grin on his face and everything about him just screamed mischief.
"I don't need money, I can easily replace the phone myself so instead you're taking me out to dinner.". I stared at him, my mouth agape 'Dinner?! We just freaking met yesterday... if you can ever consider bumping into someone a meeting!' "If you have the money then why do I need to go on a date with you to repay you?'' I asked feeling very skeptical about the whole dinner idea. "Why do rich people get car insurance?" He askee back with a smug look on his face.
"Fair point." I mumbled under my breath "But still isn't there anyway else I can repay you?" "Nope and don't forget, you're the one taking me out not the other way around Princess." He replied with a now cheeky smile. 'Such a good samaritan.' Normally, in this kind of situation, I would have immediately refused and found some other way to deal with it but something about him intrigued me, it was like I had this unexplainable feeling to know more. And weighing the pro's and con's it didn't really seem like a bad idea.
The con's weren't close to being as much as the pro's, either that I just couldn't think of more con's than:
1. He could be dangerous and can potentially hurt me.
2. Curiosity kills the cat
Now don't go around worrying what 'curiosity kills the cat means', it will be explained later on as we progress.
I mean except for the obvious danger there is regarding my life, the pro's seemed pretty solid:
1. I could meet someone new; make a new friend.
2. Since I always wore disguises on missions, he couldn't possibly be from the spy biz... Right?
3. Although he acted bossy, I just somehow had the feeling that he'd never be able to hurt me, not because he can't but because he just didn't have it in him to hurt me.
4. I'd satisfy my bubbling curiosity .
And... the most important pro;
5. If things go well I'd have another shot at... love!!
