***Two Days Later, The Valley of Shadows in the outskirt of the Armed Nation of Dwargon***
Twelve figures stood at the entrance of the Valley of Shadows, their eyes scanning the rugged landscape before them. Towering cliffs bordered the valley, casting long, dark shadows that gave the valley its ominous name. The participants, each chosen for their skill and bravery, were about to embark on a journey that would test their limits.
Standing at the front of the group was Instructor Valeria from Nevermore Academy. Her stern gaze swept over the participants, her voice carrying the weight of authority.
"Welcome, brave souls, to the Valley of Shadows," she began. "Within these treacherous grounds lies the golden ticket to Nevermore Academy. Only one of you will emerge victorious. The rest will face trials that will test your strength, wit, and resilience."
She paused, allowing her words to sink in. "Remember, this competition is not just about skill with a sword. You must also be cunning, resourceful, and determined. Now, let us begin."
Valeria handed each participant a small satchel containing basic supplies: a few days' worth of food, a waterskin, a map of the valley, and a single healing potion. "Use these wisely," she advised.
The Participants are Kael Stoneforge - The adopted son of Sir Stoneforge, known for his surprising strength and hidden talents.
Lyria Ironfist - Daughter of Sir Fred, a fierce and agile fighter.
Gareth Goldvien - Son of Sir Geld, known for his cunning and ruthlessness.
Alric Balmoral - Heir to House Balmoral, skilled in both swordplay and tactics.
Eldric Giyu - Nephew of Sir Giyu, a master of defensive techniques.
Thalia Dwarki - Niece of Sir Dwarki, swift and stealthy.
Borin Azaka - Son of Sir Azaka, known for his brute strength.
Mira Stoneforge - Cousin of Kael, a healer and archer.
Darius Blackthorn - A mysterious outsider with a reputation for being a lone wolf.
Kara Swiftblade - A renowned swordswoman from a Noble House.
Liam Firebrand - A fiery-tempered fighter with a passion for pyrotechnics.
And lastly, the Son of the High Chancellor - Prince Dogo of the House Dougor.
Everyone present here's a very good swordsman all in their first stage of the Level B Swordsman except Kael who is in his first stage of the Level C Swordsman.
The Instructor Valeria was wondering why he joined the competition believing that he doesn't fit but decided to keep it to herself.
***Into the Valley***
As the sun began to rise, Valeria led the participants into the Valley of Shadows. The terrain was rugged and unpredictable, with narrow paths winding through dense forests and rocky outcrops. The air was thick with the scent of pine and damp earth.
The group soon reached a clearing where Valeria stopped. "This is where we part ways," she said. "From here on, you are on your own. Remember, the golden ticket is hidden somewhere in this valley. Find it, and you will earn your place at Nevermore Academy."
With a final nod, Valeria turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving the participants to begin their quest.
Kael took a deep breath, his hand gripping the hilt of his sword. He glanced at Mira, who gave him a reassuring smile. "Stay safe, cousin," she said softly before heading off in the opposite direction.
It was until yesterday he got to know that Sir Stoneforge of the House Stoneforge had a daughter who stay faraway from the Armed Nation of Dwargon. She heard about the competition and decided to come back.
The participants quickly dispersed, each choosing their own path. Kael decided to head towards the ancient ruins marked on his map, believing they might hold the first clue.
The valley was alive with the sounds of nature, but Kael remained vigilant, knowing that danger could lurk around any corner. As he navigated the narrow paths and climbed over rocky terrain, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched.
After an hour of trekking, Kael reached the ancient ruins. The stone structures were crumbling, covered in moss and vines. He carefully entered the main hall, his eyes scanning for any signs of a clue.
Suddenly, he heard a noise behind him. Spinning around, he found himself face to face with Darius Blackthorn. The lone wolf regarded him with a smirk.
"Looking for something?" Darius asked, his tone mocking.
Kael narrowed his eyes. "Just exploring. What about you?"
"Same," Darius replied, his hand resting on the hilt of his dagger. "But it seems we might be looking for the same thing."
"Yeah Sure.. We are all looking for the golden ticket. But I'm curious, you're not a Noble of the Armed Nation of Dwargon, how did you manage to get in the competition?"
"You're as smart as they say Kael Stoneforge. I'm not here for the Golden Ticket.. I'm here for you." He said, a smirk curling on his lower lip.
"For me?" Kael exclaimed, looking surprise. "If I may ask..."
Kael couldn't finish his speech when Dairus launched at him. "Enough of the talk.. Die."
Dairus said when he laept into the air, throwing his dagger directly at Kael's chest. Kael was shocked at this attack, he never knew Dairus was really serious about killing him.
The dagger pierced through his right chest and he crashed hard on the ground, succumbing unto darkness.
Dark blood oozing out of his chest as he groaned loudly, trying to get up but to no avail.
Dairus landed right in front of him and pulled out the dagger from his chest. "My dagger is infused with the dark poison. In less than an hour, you'll be dead."
"I'm assigned to assassinate the House Stoneforge in this Valley. Your cousin sister, Mira is the next.. When you get to hell, Tell Kibutshi I said Hi."
