Kay's maneuver diverted the large alligator's attention, causing him to lose concentration and cease commanding the nightmare creatures. This caused them to revert to their mindless natural form and approach the wall opening in a wave.
The battle with the hoplites then continued, and although Kay was still encircled by the sea of nightmare creatures, she was fortunately not by herself because the small wasp and her praetorians were helping her from the sky.
As the adversary could easily seize Kay's chains, she decided to stop using them. Instead, she used her spear and performed acrobatic moves on the battlefield, making it impossible for the opponent to harm her.
While it is true that the enemy possessed a numerical advantage, the struggle at the wall proved to be a meat grinder, as not a single fisherman was able to breach the hoplite line.
