Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Six Years Later

I flinched at the sound of my uncle's angry voice echoing through the house.

"You little freak!!! How dare you do better than Dudley at school?!?!" Uncle Vernon yelled in rage, his face contorting with anger as he grabbed me roughly by the arm.

"Uncle, you're hurting me," I whimpered, trying to free my arm from Uncle Vernon's grip.

In response, Uncle Vernon's grip tightened painfully around my arm, causing me to wince in pain.

"You'll learn your place, boy," he snarled, pushing open the door to the damp, musty basement.

He shoved me inside, slamming the door shut behind us. I fell down the stairs, landing in a heap at the bottom, whimpering in pain as my body ached from the fall. Uncle Vernon stormed down the stairs after me, looking down at me with disgust.

"You're nothing but a waste of space, boy," he spat, kicking me hard in the ribs.

The excruciating pain made me scream in pain. I tried to crawl away, but my uncle was relentless.

"Please, I'm sorry, Uncle!!! I won't do it again," I whimpered, begging for mercy.

Uncle Vernon laughed cruelly, his eyes cold and hard.

"Too late for that, boy. You should have thought about that before you embarrassed Dudley," he sneered, reaching down and grabbing my hair, yanking my head back painfully.

With a vicious grin, he lifted his foot high into the air and stomped down hard on my hand, causing a sharp pain to shoot through my body. The sudden pain in my hand made me cry out as his uncle continued to yell at me. My uncle's words were like knives, cutting deep into my soul. I whimpered and tried to crawl away from him, but he only seemed to become more aggressive. Feeling trapped and hopeless, I did my best to shield myself from my uncle's blows. The pain was unbearable as my uncle continued to torment me. As the beating continued, I felt myself growing weaker and more exhausted. My body ached, and my mind was filled with fear and despair. I couldn't understand why my uncle was treating me like this. With a final kick to my ribs, sending me tumbling onto the cold, damp floor, Uncle Vernon stormed out of the basement, slamming the door shut behind him. The echo of the slamming door reverberated through the basement, leaving me shaking and sobbing in pain. Hearing the slam of the door, I curled up into a ball on the damp floor, trying to find some comfort amidst the pain that consumed my body. My thoughts were a jumbled mess, filled with confusion and self-loathing. As I lay on the basement floor, my heart was racing and my breath was coming in short, shallow gasps, as I tried to make sense of what had just happened. My uncle's anger towards me was palpable, and the way he'd treated me was nothing short of cruel. I couldn't understand why he hated me so much.

I attempted to sit up but my body ached too much from the beating I just received. The pain was unbearable, and it felt like every movement would cause more harm. I collapsed back onto the cold, damp floor, whimpering in pain. I felt the coldness of the damp floor seeping into my clothes as Ilied there, trying to catch my breath. The pain in my body was excruciating, making every movement difficult. I heard the muffled sounds of people moving upstairs, but I couldn't muster the strength to try and get up. The pain is too much. Suddenly, I heard a squeaking sound coming from under the stairs, and a small, hairy creature emerged. It had a big bushy tail, shiny black eyes, and sharp little teeth. It was a rat. The rat sniffed the air curiously, then turned its attention to me. It hesitated for a moment as if deciding whether to approach or not. Then, with a squeak of courage, the rat scurried forward and nudged my hand with its cold, wet nose. The sudden touch of the rat's cold, wet nose jolted me out of my pain-filled haze. I looked up at the small creature, surprised by its actions. As I watched the rat curiously, I noticed that it seemed to be observing you with intelligence beyond the normal intelligence of a rat, it seemed that the rat was trying to communicate with me somehow. It nudged my hand again, this time more insistently. I hesitated at first, but then I reached out tentatively and touched the rat's soft fur. To my surprise, the rat didn't move away. The rat continued to nuzzle against my hand, almost as if it were trying to comfort me. I couldn't believe it. Rats were always seen as pests, not as intelligent creatures capable of showing empathy. Suddenly I felt a strange feeling rise within me, at the same time, the rat shriveled up and died, while I felt the pain slowly ease to a more bearable pain and I could breathe easier. I felt a sense of relief as the pain in my body began to subside, and I was able to catch my breath more easily. The sudden realization of what had happened hit me like a ton of bricks - I had somehow killed the rat with a touch.

'How?!?! What the bloody hell?!?!' I thought to myself, still reeling from the shock of the event.

As I lay there, processing the events that had just transpired, I felt a surge of energy rush through my body, as if an untapped power was reawakening. The pain in my body was still there but wasn't as overwhelming as before. Feeling somewhat stronger, I slowly pulled myself up into a sitting position, my movements still stiff and painful. The realization of what had happened was still sinking in, and I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of my stomach. I gingerly touched the spot on my hand where the rat had nuzzled against me, feeling a morbid fascination and curiosity over this newfound ability. My mind was racing with questions - what was happening to me? Was I going mad? What kind of power did I possess? As I sat there, contemplating my newfound abilities, I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. My heart raced as I realized that it was my Uncle Vernon returning. I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread wash over me as I prepared for the inevitable torment that was sure to follow.

As Uncle Vernon stormed back into the basement, his eyes locked onto me immediately, he stopped immediately, and before he yelled, "Freak, stop whatever you're doing to make your eyes glow like that!!!", his eyes flashed momentarily in fear. I looked at him, confused, unsure of what he was talking about.

"Uncle Vernon, I... I don't know what you're talking about," I stammered, my voice shaking.

He glared at me, clearly not believing me.

"Don't lie to me, boy! Your eyes are glowing green!" he growled, his voice shaking in anger but also mixed with fear.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about," I repeated, my voice trembling.

Uncle Vernon took a step closer to me, his eyes narrowing suspiciously.

"Looks like you need another beating," he snarled, reaching out to grab me roughly by the arm once again.

"Uncle Vernon, please!!" I begged, trying to pull away from him.

Before he could continue his assault, the feeling of the energy within my body turned dark and foreboding, causing the hair on my arms to stand on end. Suddenly, the same thing that happened to the rat happened to Uncle Vernon, Uncle Vernon let out a chilling scream as his skin wrinkled and aged, he immediately let off my arm before he died the same way the rat did.

"What kind of freak are you?" Uncle Vernon asked as he backed away in fear.

The sudden change in Uncle Vernon's demeanor caught me off guard. His eyes were wide with fear as he stumbled backward, trying to get away from me. As I watched Uncle Vernon's terrified reaction, a sense of satisfaction washed over me. I had no idea what was happening to me, or why I was capable of such horrific things, but I couldn't deny the power I felt surging through my veins. I stood up slowly, my muscles still aching from the beating I'd received earlier. Uncle Vernon continued to back away, his eyes never leaving me for a second. I felt the energy within me pulsing as if urging me to use it, but I resisted. I couldn't bring myself to hurt anyone else, no matter how much they might deserve it.
