Chapter 27 - Trickery

Liquid seeped out of Puffy and became Goo Han. He stood next to me and commented,

"That ends well,"

"Yeah, kind of unexpected."

I stopped Puffy and ordered him to stay idle.

"What are you going to do with him?"

"I wanted to kill him, but he's already fainted. Killing someone that's fainted never felt right to me." I let out a troubled sigh.

"Your way of thinking is scary, Sunny. Why don't we tie him somewhere?"

I nodded and called the others. I told Miem to stop her dragon. That beast is a backup plan if we failed to stop Moose. Miem complied. The dragon withdraw their breaths and landed. The ground trembled.

"Hakku."

"Do you need help?"

"Give him food that will keep him unconscious."

"Sure."

Hakku approached Moose. He looked around and grabbed a few stones. Goo Han stood next to Hakku, watching it with interest.

"Len, what's your situation?" I spoke at the watch.

Only silence responded. My heart tightened.

[He's somewhere better.] A female voice replied.

"He died?" I take a guess. My voice was calm, but my eyes were filled with rage.

[Aren't you too calm? Your friend just died.]

"I know. I'll make you regret that."

[How scary!] She said playfully before cutting the line.

"What now?" Miem pondered.

"We'll have to retrieve the device ourselves."

"Do you know where they are?"

"Yeah, they're in the east. We should hurry before they left the area." I turned my head to Goo Han and saw something unexpected.

Moose abruptly raised his upper body and aimed at Hakku, shooting a plasma. Both of them were surprised.

Hakku tried to dodge it, but he was too close and couldn't dodge it. As Goo Han stood next to him, he pushed Hakku away and ended up facing the plasma. It pierced through his chest and come out of the other side.

"Goo Han!" I reflexively shouted. As though my shout was a sign, Puffy moved and immediately arrived before Moose. It raised its sword and slashed him down. Before that, however, Moose smiled cunningly.

"No…." My words were slow and filled with disbelief. I stood silently for a few moments before turning my head to Moose.

On the other hand, Hakku and Miem ran towards Goo Han, attending his wounds even after knowing it was useless.

I instructed Puffy to stop. No matter how hard it tried, it couldn't cut him deeply enough. However, there was still harm.

Moose coughed out blood. His breathing was slow. He looked weak and reaching his limit. He looked up at me and I looked down on him. Our eyes met.

"Aren't you going to kill me?"

I fell silent and kept staring him in the eye. Next, I crouched so that our lines of sight were level.

I held his thigh and tightened my grip.

"Are you going to crush my thigh? That's impossible, even your sword can't cut me."

"You'll have to pay," I said briefly and poured even more strength. He screamed.

That's right, scream!

Blood spilled on the ground as I put more force into my grip. Even screams and blood being thrown at me, my face remained unchanged.

It took some time to crush his thigh off and detach it.

I threw away his leg and started eying on the other one.

"Please, no more." He begged pitifully.

"We're just getting started." I began to crush his leg.

Blood dripping to the ground bounced to my clothes, painting it red.

"Please, just kill me." Moose was breathing heavily.

"That's too merciful."

I began to crush his arms off and detached them, leaving him with only a body and head.

"Sunny, Goo Han has died." Miem delivered the news.

"I'm sorry, Sunny." Hakku apologized deeply.

I fell silent and turned my eyes to Goo Han. I walked closer.

We only knew for almost a year, but we got along.

Being in this line of work, I knew it was either me or him that's gonna die. I've prepared, is what I'm trying to say.

Yet, when it truly happened. F*ck.

A drop of tear fell on Goo Han's face, trickling down his cheek.

I wrapped his body with smoke and solidified it. As for Moose, he'll live, death is too peaceful for him.

I hang his body under a tree and a sword nearby. This sword will fly and stab his liver every few seconds.

"Let's meet up with Eve and the surviving members." I suggested, no one refused.

"Can we complete the mission?" Hakku asked doubtfully.

With the death of half of the members, our strength has decreased, and there were two factions we must face. Rinesse and Scarecrow.

I hate to admit this, but it'd be great if Vie announced that a deal has been made. However, hoping for others was never my style.

I 'see' the remaining members. Eve was still alive and surrounded by three Honors. However, in the next moment, they fight with each other and ended up killing one another.

I'm not surprised. After confirming Eve's situation, I shifted my eyes to another flame. It belong to Dre. He was still alive and facing an orange flame.

That's weird, he left and then came back? I frowned.

As if noticing me, the orange flame moved at an insane speed and left the mist. I frowned slightly and decide to not think about it too much. I'll ask Dre.

I created hoverboards and we picked up Dre. He was beaten up.

Hakku got off from his hoverboard and immediately stuff food into Dre's mouth. His wound recovered at a visible rate.

"Thank you, Hakku. Wait, where's Good Han? Isn't he with you?" After he thanked him, Dre looked at everyone and noticed a missing person.

Hakku looked away. Pain, regret and sadness flashes through his eyes. This didn't escape from Dre. He grasped the situation.

"Damn it! Who else die?"

"Len and Ned."

"For real? They're quite powerful… hey, are we certain this is a grade A+ mission? Three Honors have died! Are we going to continue the mission? We don't have a lot of people left!"
