Chapter 19 - Went Horrible

It took more than half an hour to reach the black market. Hakku parked the car.

He then gave us a black watch, "Disguise your battle suits, and blend in with the crowd. Me and Hakku will be in position in case Vie fails."

I put on the watch and my clothes changed. The robe turned black, the shirt became red like blood. Only the pants stayed the same.

As for Eve, her jacket turned into blue, and her top tank changed to jet black. Her hair also changed to brown.

I pull up my phone camera to check myself. My hair was gray. It was originally black with white on some strands of my hair.

I looked over to Hakku and Goo Han. Goo Han wore a cream shirt and white pants, while Hakku sported a gray sweater with brown jacket and gray jeans.

We left the Jeep. Hakku and Goo Han walked somewhere to prepare themselves. Eve put her hands on her jacket as she looked around.

We left the parking area as we didn't forget to watch our surroundings.

"There's a lot of people around here. Is there an event?" Eve pondered.

"There's a weekly night market. You should try the food. They're all delicious." I suggested.

"What's your recommendation?" She asked curiously.

"You like sweet stuff, right? There's a cupcake stall that's really good. I've tried it a few times before. Come on, follow me." I held her hand since the street was filled with people. I didn't want her to get lost. She didn't react much when I held her hand

I led her to the stall. It didn't take long.

"Mister, two cupcakes please." I raised my two fingers while the rest were closed.

"Oh, she's beautiful. Is she your girlfriend? " The stall owner asked politely.

"Yes, of course," I said.

"No we're not," she said.

Both of us said it simultaneously, and my words weren't clear as it was muffled by hers.

"Yes, we're not." I corrected my words.

"Haha, aren't you a funny lad. Here, the cupcake. A bonus for this beautiful lady." The stall owner smiled kindly as he gave Eve two chocolate cupcakes and me a vanilla.

"Thank you." Eve accepted with a nod.

I paid for the cupcake and we went our way.

Eve took a small bite. Her eyes sparkled.

"This is good!" She exclaimed.

"Right?" I take a bite. Both of us enjoyed eating the cupcake. Then we take a short stroll around the market and buy more food.

.

"What's the situation?" Asked Len.

"It's all going good," replied Vie through the headset. He was walking through the night market and stopped at a pizza shop.

The shop was closed and seemed to be abandoned for a long time. He knocked on the door rhythmically.

A few seconds later, the door opened slightly, and a man asked, "Your name?"

"Doggy Woo."

"You may enter."

Then they opened the door a bit more. Enough for someone to get in, and enough for an outsider didn't see the inside completely.

Upon entering, Vie looked around. The inside was lively compared to the outside. So desolate and quiet.

Vie walked to the basement and a man immediately greeted him.

"Ey, Vie, my man! We've been waiting for you!" He gave Vie a warm hug and a few pats on the back.

"Hey Paul. Nice to meet you."

"So, what brings you here?" Paul smiled widely as he put his hands on his waist.

"I want to meet Riness. Is she here? I already texted her before coming, but I haven't got any reply."

"She's here, but she doesn't want any visitors. I can relay your message to her."

"Can't you make an exception? For old time's sake?" Vie smiled.

"Sorry man, she said she doesn't want to see anyone right now."

"That's too bad. Alright then, see you later."

"Alright, thanks for coming man."

After those words, Vie turned around and walked away. He stopped at the door and closed it.

Paul turned around as he felt something was off. He saw Vie close the door and turn the lock.

"Vie, whatever you're planning, it's not going to work. You're only one person, man." Paul pulled out a pistol and aimed it at Vie. His pals realized something was off and stopped whatever they were doing. They pulled out their firearms.

"Paul, I just want to talk to an old friend."

"And she isn't available right now, please understand and come back tomorrow."

"Can't do that, I need to talk to her, NOW!" Vie immediately changed the gravity to zero. Before that, however, Paul and his pals pulled the trigger. The bullets hit Vie. The latter had disbelief in his expression.

Blood trickled down his body. He deactivated his powers and everyone fell with loud thud.

Vie collapsed as pool of blood start to form. Vie thought his own blood was warm, and he slowly closed his eyes.

.

We take a sit after enjoying the night market.

"That's fun." Eve stretched her arm upward.

"I'm glad you enjoy it." I smiled.

"Yeah, thank you. I wish the others can enjoy it too."

"Let's ask them when the mission is over."

"Yeah, you're right." She nodded and got up from her seat, "Now then."

"Let's get back to work." I stood from my seat.

"I've seen approximately fifteen Honors," reported Eve

"I saw three and located Moose. He's in the bar with his subordinates." I said.

We didn't just take ordinary stroll. It was a scout, and the result was magnificent. These Honors didn't even take the effort to hide themselves. It wasn't hard to find them with my powers. That said, I didn't low my guard and assume that wasn't all the Honors.

"Eve, always prepared for the Honors that we didn't detect." I warned her solemnly.

"Yeah, don't worry. Now then, I'm off." Eve walked away to their locations and wanted to plant something similar to a time bomb.

"Be careful."

She waved her hand and she vanished within the crowd.
