"What have you done?" Hakku asked in a terrified and shocked voice.
"Something none of you dares to do," I said, wiping off Vie's blood from my face.
"You know what this means, right?" Len asked calmly despite someone just blow up. No, it wasn't just him. Almost everyone acts normal and flat. It felt like not them.
I frowned slightly, and aimed my arm towards Goo Han. He didn't show much of an expression when Vie explodes.
"What are you doing?" He asked, confused.
I put my arm down and approached Dre. I also noticed a tiny fox tattoo on his neck, glowing.
"What did you do?" I grab his shirt and pulled him towards me.
"It's for your own good."
"You don't decide that." I pushed him away as I released him from my clutch.
Dre fixed his attire, "You're insane, Sunny."
"Insane? I killed the scumbag that treats life as light as a feather, and you call me insane?" I pointed at myself.
"Then you're no different than him." Dre pointed his finger at Vie.
"You must be an idiot to think we're the same. Enough of this nonsense, where are we? Some kind of illusion?" I looked around and noticed the people had stopped moving. I moved closer to Eve and touched her skin. It felt warm and no different than a normal person. It was as though I were trapped in frozen time.
"It's an ability I copied from Clara. She calls it False Reality. We're inside your mind, and this whole thing is a dream. Time is slower than the outside," he explained calmly.
"Clara, isn't she that mind reading psychic? How did you copy her ability? Don't you need the blood of the target to copy their ability?" I looked at him like he's a creep.
"Don't look at me like I'm a pervert. I got her consent, alright?" He replied.
"Why did she agree?" I pondered as I took a sit.
"In case somebody went out of control." He replied quickly, as if knowing I would ask that.
"Is it you that wants her power, or the other way around?" I wanted to clear things up.
"She requested. Plus, she gave me more cool abilities." He bragged proudly.
"I'm not interested. What I'm more interested in is– If she thinks this might happen, and even prepares for it, doesn't that mean she can see the future?" I pinched my chin.
"No, her power is in fact related to the mind. Maybe she's just predicting all of these. Especially with someone as unhinged as you. Anyone would surely prepare for the worst."
I wanted to ask more questions, only to realize they won't be answered unless I meet Clara.
Putting a new to-do list at the back of my mind, I said to Dre, "I'll still kill Vie."
"Look, what I said earlier is wrong. You're right. Vie killed the innocent to reach his goal. You have all the rights to kill him, but look at the place and time. You're wiser than this.
"Don't you want to achieve your goal? Isn't killing Vie would make it harder? How about your family? Do you think Synth would just let them live normally? They're not nice to traitors."
I let out a heavy sigh after long silence, "Fine."
"It's not like you to be engulfed in emotion." He said all of a sudden, "Did something happen?"
"None of your business." I said with concealed rage.
"I'm just asking."
Then, Dre snapped his fingers. The environment began to blur and melt like a new fresh painting that just splashed by a bucket of water.
My consciousness stirred and I felt heavy. I blinked, and all of a sudden, I was in the familiar classroom.
"What are you going to do? Kill me? You know what's gonna happen!" Vie shouted.
When I came to my senses, his words weren't clear. It was muffled, and slowly got clearer as time went on. It felt like just waking up from a deep sleep. My mind was jumbled. Nobody realized as I kept a straight face.
I took a deep breath as I closed my eyes, forcing my hot mind and body to calm themselves. I turned around and sat.
Eve was bewildered with what just happened. She thought she was about to witness a murder.
Since Sunny had calmed down, Eve got back to her seat and tried not to think much.
"That's it, just be a good boy and don't make any problems." Vie smiled arrogantly, and his smile vanished when he sensed something trickling down his nose. He touched it, and saw red liquid. He frowned in confusion, thinking that the blood was probably because he wiped his nose too hard.
In the next moment though, his eyes enlarged in fear and looked at me.
I frowned slightly and I got a weird feeling. I turned my head to Dre. A tiny tattoo of a pink fox on his wrist glowed.
He sat just right next to me, so I got closer to him and whispered, "What did you do?"
"Showing him his death, and its sensation. That'd make him behave for a while."
"Nice." I smiled.
Vie didn't say a word, and only kept staring at me in fear and anger.
After that, the meeting continued. To sum it up, Vie will participate in plan B to support Eve in distracting enemy Honors. As much as Eve hated it, she reluctantly agreed.
When the meeting ended, we prepared for the last time. I changed to my battle suit. A white tight shirt that enlightened my muscle with a Phoenix emblem on its right sleeve, white robe that reached to my ankle, and black long pants. The robe has a Phoenix emblem.
"I already requested them to remove this robe." I complained.
"Can't you just not wear it?"
"Stupid regulations. If I don't follow, I'll not be able to use my power for a year, and get a temporary vacation."
"Just for not wearing a robe? I didn't know such a rule existed. Thank god I didn't forget to use this jacket." Eve said in relief.
We hopped on a military jeep. It was a four seater vehicle with me and Eve on the back. On the front seat, it was Goo Han with Hakku driving.
