A sigh escaped her lips as she parked her car in the drive way, her mum had been calling her nonstop since she got inside her car, but Adeline had already spoken to her and she assured her that she was fine. She didn't dare to tell her mum about the incident at work. She knew that would only get her worried.
With a sigh she got out of her car as she walked towards her condo, she had been driving for almost an hour and her hands and feet were tired. Even though she didn't really do much work at the office, she was asleep the entire time.
Thinking about it made her bite her lips as she put in her pass code and walked inside her small apartment. She looked around, the lights were dim but Adeline could see just fine, there wasn't much to see anyway. The apartment was like any other small apartments in the city, she had a small couch and a TV in her small living room.
There was a door at the side leading to her bedroom, and then there was a small area away from the couch, that was her kitchen. Everything about her apartment was small. But that was all she could afford, though her pay was more than enough for her to get a better apartment and even a better car but Adeline didn't have enough money to fix all her problems. Adeline sighed again as she walked inside her room, she dropped her bag on the bed and then she began to take off her clothes, piece by piece. She planned to dip herself in warm water, she hoped that would at least release her tense muscles.
She had to help her parents who were leaving at the other side of town, she was the only child and so she had so many bills to pay. And then she had her own problems to deal with.
Adeline was happy when the man agreed to hire her, by her calculations, if she's able to save all her salary till the end of the year, then she might just be able to pay her bills and then start her medications.
The thought brought a sense of relief to her, she remembered her encounter with Mr Wayne today, she could tell that he was angry, no, she guessed that he was angry, she couldn't interpret the look on his face. But Adeline knew that any boss would be upset to find their Secretary sleeping on the job.
Not wanting to think about the matter anymore, Adeline dipped herself in the tub and let her body sink in. The water felt so good and Adeline wished she could spend the night here.
After staying inside the bath tub for almost an hour, Adeline got out and dried herself with a towel, she looked through her wardrobe. She quickly changed into a short and a loose top, her hair was still a little damp but Adeline didn't care, all she wanted to do was lie down.
"You can't be serious right now" Adeline spoke in a soft voice when she heard the sound of her tummy grumbling. She had planned to lie down and get some rest but it was impossible to sleep in this condition.
Adeline didn't have the strength to cook but she had to eat something, she walked back into her living room and then she reached out to her bag and brought out the pack of hamburger.
She walked towards her kitchen and opened her mini fridge, she was sure she still had one or two juice pack there. After grabbing her dinner, Adeline walked back inside her room, she sat down on the edge of her bed as she ate her hamburger while sipping from her juice pack.
It didn't take long for her to finish, she quickly cleaned her hand and removed the crumbs from her bed before lying down to get some rest.
It was hard for her to sleep, her mind was still clouded with thoughts, her boss. She had been working with the man for only a few months but she knew how ruthless he was. He didn't show mercy to anyone, infact he was known to be one of the most dangerous business man. Now she had gotten herself in his black list, she was sure that he might choose to do something to her because of her actions, perhaps maybe a deduction from her salary.
"Go to sleep Adeline" She said to herself as she closed her eyes shut trying to get her mind off things. It didn't take long before she finally drifted off to sleep.

"Good morning Mr Wayne, I see we are leaving quite early today. Where shall I take you?" The young man asked politely as he waited patiently for his boss to give him directions. He was used to driving the boss to work at 7:30am but he was surprised to receive a call from his boss so early in the morning asking him to come over.
Dylan had his eyes closed as he contemplated for a few seconds, last night he got up early today because he had the intention of driving to her house. But now he was beginning to question his own intentions. After going through her resume and doing a lot of research, he realized that there was not much to know about her. But for some reason he couldn't get her out of his goddamn head.
At first he thought that maybe it was just his sexual urges but Dylan knew that it was more than that.
"Sir?" The driver asked again with concern evident in his tone. He noticed that his boss had been silent for five minutes now without any answer to his question.
"49 Featherstone Street" He finally spoke, he opened his eyes and then he looked at the driver. "How long will it take you to get there?" Dylan asked.
"Approximately forty five minutes sir, if there's no traffic" The young man answered, his voice a little shaken seeing the look his boss gave him.
"You have forty minutes" Dylan spoke before leaning back on the head rest.
The young man tried to speak but he couldn't make out any words, he knew that arguing with this man was pointless. Without wasting anymore time, he turned on the car engine and reversed out of the driveway before taking a different path. He glanced back to check if the men were also taking the same path, to his surprise they were still on their tails.
He couldn't help but wonder if this aloof boss of his had called the men to tell them about their new movement today.
