Chereads / A NIGHT WITH MY SECRETARY / Chapter 14 - CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Chapter 14 - CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Dylan slipped his phone back in his pocket, he was still inside his office, he had his eyes fixed outside on the streets. He was standing in front of his glass walls over looking the city. His muscles were tense and his eyes looked cold, right now he looked scary as hell. He twirled the glass of champagne in his hand before taking a small sip. A small smirk formed on his lips as he thought about how he was going to make a certain doll face regret her actions tonight.

She lied to him, Dylan had the resources to find her, infact if he really wanted to then he would be able to track her in less than ten minutes. But Dylan wanted her to think she won, just for an hour or two, since she was being stubborn tonight. Dylan enjoyed playing the cat and mouse game if that was what she wanted. But he was not going to go back on his words, she had lied to him, he wasn't going to let her go free, not after what she did. He wasn't a good man, infact Dylan was completely aware of that, he was the worst.

Dylan was quiet, he had been standing there for thirty minutes now, waiting, he could already picture the scene in his head and he couldn't help the grin from painting his lips again. He had called her because he wanted to know where she was, his plan was to drop her off at home safe and then leave her till morning. But now, this little act of hers, no, he couldn't let her get away with it. Crazy as it seems, Dylan was happy that she acted like this, now his actions would be justified. Not that he cared.

"Adeline" He called her name again and this time there was this glint in his eyes, mischief, he looked like a devil, one that was just set loose from hell. His mind was clouded with her, her face, her voice. He took a deep breath like that would help him but still she was still on his mind.

He had been standing there for an hour now, Dylan dropped the glass down on the table, he looked down one more time before he walked out of the office. He saw two of his men standing at the side of the elevator, they both had an apologetic look on their faces as they tried not to meet his deadly gaze. Dylan had called them to ask about Adeline and then they told him that she was gone.

"I'm sorry Mr Wayne, we didn't know that you wanted the little lady to come with us" Zade spoke first, even though he was aware of his situation right now, he still couldn't pass the chance of pissing this aloof boss of his.

"Shut up Zade" Rick spoke, even he could tell that Zade was still messing around. But Mr Wayne was upset right now, and Rick feared that if Zade continued with this attitude of his then he might just have his body thrown to the other side of the room.

Dylan had his eyes fixed on Zade for a few seconds, he had clearly heard the man, and then he heard the way he added her. ' Little lady ' The words echoed in his head and for some reason Dylan didn't like the name at all.

"Little lady?" Dylan asked with arched brows as he watched Zade. Right now Dylan was fuming with anger, he was still angry because of Adeline's actions. And if this stupid bodyguard was trying to get under his skin then he picked the wrong night.

"I'm sorry Boss, I mean Miss Silvers, we ....I was not aware that...that she was suppose to go with us" Zade explained when he finally looked up to meet the man's gaze, he ended up stuttering while he said his last words. He knew that his boss was scary but now he wished he had kept his mouth shut because the man standing in front of him wasn't just scary, he was terrifying as hell.

Dylan didn't respond to his words, instead he walked inside the elevator.

The two men glanced at each other before rushing inside the elevator, the doors shut and it looked like they were trapped in hell with their soul at the messy of this ruthless billionaire. Zade was trying his best to breathe, he had never lost his cool in front of his boss before but today, today he felt like this man was different.

"You guys are dismissed, go to your houses, I have something to deal with" Dylan said and then the doors open, he strode out of the elevator as he head for the parking lot.

"Good evening Mr Wayne" Josh greeted with a simple nod as he opened the passenger seat and waited for Dylan to get in. He could tell that his boss was in a bad mood judging from the scared faces he got from Zade and Rick and then the air around them seem to be suffocating.

"Give me the keys" Dylan ordered and then he watched Josh reach his hand to his pocket and handed the keys to him. "You can go home for tonight" Dylan said to Josh before he closed the passenger seat and then he settled himself in the driver's seat. He started the engine and then within seconds he was already driving out of the parking lot.

"Oh my God, did he just fire us, why would he dismiss us like that?" Zade asked as he looked at the faces of the other men, they all looked rather happy that they were getting a break for tonight.

"He's letting us go home to rest, maybe he wants to be alone for a while, just enjoy it while it lasts" Rick said as he walked towards Josh and gave the young fellow a pat on the shoulder.

"I guess you'll be joining our ride today" Rick teased before he walked towards one of the cars.

Zade was silent as he watched, he looked in the distance where the Bugatti Centodieci had disappeared. He had a bad feeling about this, his boss was angry and no doubt it was because of that Secretary of his. Zade was a bit curious to know what's happening but he wanted to stay out of trouble, he liked his job and his pretty face and so he was going to be careful not to loose both.
