A bald vampire, who had been chasing the Green Man, froze in place when he saw Eric—the Blade Warrior—standing there in his signature sunglasses. Fear instantly flashed across the vampire's face.
"Slash!" In a swift movement, a blade flashed through the air. The vampire, who had been trying to flee, was sliced clean through and disintegrated into black sand as he hit the ground.
"Take care of yourself. If you get bitten, I'll be the first to kill you," Eric warned, his voice cold and stern. Without waiting for a reply, he charged into the bar, ready for battle.
"Don't kill the purebreds," Merlin called out as a reminder, his voice calm and measured.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Gunfire erupted inside, followed by the clang of swords and the anguished screams of the vampires.
"It's the vampire hunter!!!" someone inside screamed in terror.
Merlin stepped into the chaotic venue, where the Blade Warrior's silver sword had already reduced much of the room to ashes. Unlike Eric, who was cutting through vampires left and right, Merlin's attention was focused on a group of men in suits on the party stage.
Typically, purebred vampires wouldn't mingle with hybrids, but there were exceptions. Some weaker purebloods came out to recruit hybrids, using them for blood and other resources. These purebloods were here today, intrigued by the blood of the Green Men. The blood, altered by the lizard potion, had become a delicacy for vampires. But with recent attention on the Green Men, they had to tread carefully, bribing some of them to trick others into coming here.
While Blade was busy slaughtering the vampires around him, Merlin made his way toward the purebloods.
"Who are you?" one of the purebreds asked, his tone laced with caution as he noticed Merlin and the Blade Warrior arriving together. The air around them grew tense.
"Don't worry, I won't kill you. I just need you to accompany me," Merlin's electronically synthesized metallic voice responded calmly.
"He's just a despicable blood-eater! Don't be afraid of him!" another vampire spat, his voice filled with disdain. They couldn't believe they had been startled by a mere human.
"Hiss!!!" One of the purebred vampires, moving like a ghost, suddenly appeared behind Merlin, baring his fangs and sinking them into Merlin's neck. But instead of piercing flesh, his fangs met an unexpected resistance.
"Crack!" The sound of teeth breaking filled the air.
"Metal?!" The vampire pulled back in shock, staring at the shiny metallic surface beneath Merlin's black robe. He looked dumbfounded, realizing what he had just bitten into.
Without a word, Merlin grabbed the vampire's head and hurled him like a rag doll, slamming him into the ground with a bone-crushing "Bang!" The impact left the vampire writhing in pain, curling up instinctively as his bones cracked.
"Poof!" A shot of anesthetic was fired, injecting itself into the vampire's body.
"Now, are you going to suffer a little, or will you submit?" Merlin asked, pulling out a mechanical sword from behind and pointing it at the group. Under the hood of his black robe, his scarlet electronic eyes glowed menacingly, sending a wave of intimidation through the vampires.
One of the purebloods bared his fangs, roaring defiantly at Merlin. In response, Merlin took a slight step back and then suddenly thrust his sword forward.
"Prick!" The sword's tip pierced the vampire's heart with deadly precision, nailing him to the wall.
The vampire next to him took the opportunity to lunge at Merlin, but a cold flash of metal met him instead. The vampire was struck down before he could react, his vision blurred by the blinding light of the mechanical sword.
"Clank! Clank! Clank!" The sound of metal clashing echoed through the room as the fight raged on.
Merlin was not too anxious; he just stood in place, gracefully spinning his sword, slicing through his opponents with deadly precision. His swordsmanship, although enhanced by the Sword Fighting Chip, lacked the mastery that came with personal insight. These immortal vampires made perfect targets for testing. As Blade easily killed the remaining vampires at the bar, Merlin knocked out six pure-bloods with anesthetic darts.
"What are you capturing them for?" Eric asked, frowning.
"Employer's request!" Merlin replied, dragging the unconscious vampires away.
After embedding control chips in their bodies, Merlin left the rest to a mute accomplice. Meanwhile, Deadpool, casually reading comics at home, felt his phone vibrate with a new mission:
*[Mysterious transportation mission]*
*Take a stealth gunship to Los Angeles to drop items. After the items are recycled, proceed to a designated drop-off station in New Mexico.*
*Task reward: 1 million U.S. dollars. Accept?*
Deadpool looked at the mission on his screen, confused but intrigued.
"Okay... It's mysterious enough." He immediately clicked to accept.
"Just for transportation, and I get a million? Gotta take this one!"
*In the early morning, near Vinewood Mountain in Los Angeles.*
A dark, armed helicopter slowly emerged from the night sky. The hatch opened, and Deadpool poked his head out to take a look before unceremoniously dumping six packed vampires onto the ground.
*"Bang..."*
A cloud of dust erupted on impact. From the helicopter, Deadpool could faintly hear the echo of the landing. He glanced down at the distance from the ground, then back at the empty and enclosed cockpit, scratching his head in confusion.
*"Oh, this mission is so strange..."* he muttered, continuing to watch the ground.
However, what he saw next left him genuinely surprised. His eyes widened, and he leaned further out of the helicopter for a closer look. The six vampires he had just dropped were surrounded by strange, dark creatures resembling velociraptors. The bizarre monsters quickly approached the vampires, first looking around in confusion, then dragging the unconscious bodies into a nearby cave.
*"Oh Shit! What are those?"* Deadpool gasped, covering his mouth in surprise as he watched the creatures disappear with the six vampires.
After a moment of contemplation, he made up his mind and jumped out of the armed helicopter, deciding to investigate further.
"Boom!"
Soon, a worker bee alien appeared again. It tilted its head in confusion at the sight of Deadpool, who looked like a puddle of mud after his rough landing. What's going on today? Did all these creatures start falling from the sky?
Deadpool, disoriented and crumpled on the ground, stared wide-eyed at the monster in front of him. Under the moonlight, the alien's elongated head gleamed with a dark fluorescence. Its body was slender, and its mouth dripped with saliva. The alien worker bee, watching Deadpool quickly heal himself, roared in excitement. Without hesitation, it dragged him into the cave alongside the captured vampires.
Meanwhile, Merlin, observing the scene from his home, raised an eyebrow. "Deadpool is really something else..." he mused to himself. "I wonder what kind of aliens will emerge from him?" After a moment of anticipation, Merlin shrugged and shifted his attention back to the six vampires.
There wasn't much surveillance inside the tunnel, but luckily, the area where the alien worker bees placed the alien eggs was within the monitoring range. The alien queens, deep in the tunnel, were still laying eggs. On the surveillance screen, the six unconscious and anesthetized vampires had been placed beside a one-meter-tall alien egg, glistening with mucus.
As the vampires lay motionless, the tops of the calm alien eggs began to slowly bloom, opening up like grotesque flowers. Suddenly, a black shadow jumped out from one of the eggs and latched onto the face of a vampire. Soon after, all six alien eggs burst open one by one, and facehuggers latched onto the faces of the remaining vampires.
Merlin, watching the scene unfold, couldn't help but find it both unsettling and fascinating.
