After determining their missions, everyone took three tubes of serum from Merlin and left the Osborn Industrial Building. Merlin, on the other hand, held the computer he had taken from the experiment, put on his headset, and began hacking into the surveillance systems in various areas. The towers were placed on taller, well-known buildings, so monitoring them was essential.
Optimus Prime and Arcee sat on the edge of the building, gazing at the devastated city below.
"Humans are really crazy. But there are those who share the same goals as us," Optimus Prime said, his voice tinged with both shock and admiration as he reflected on the chaos they had just endured.
"Yes," Arcee agreed. "If Merlin hadn't transformed Bumblebee and me, and if this chaos had continued, the AllSpark might have really fallen into Megatron's hands." She turned to look at Merlin, who was focused on planning their routes.
Optimus Prime suddenly stood up slowly. Under the full moon, he paused and said softly, "I want to stay."
"What!?" Arcee looked at him in surprise. "You want to stay? Are you sure? What about our home planet, Cybertron?"
Optimus Prime looked up at the starry sky, seemingly gazing at Cybertron, light years away. He shook his head. "Actually, you and I both know that after hundreds of years of war on Cybertron, the trauma it has suffered cannot be recovered. Even if we go back with the AllSpark, we will still be greeted by endless war. The devastated Cybertron can no longer hold on."
He paused and glanced at Merlin. "We need new homes..."
Arcee remained silent for a moment, but deep down, she didn't feel much resistance to the idea.
"Corner No. 1, three seconds!"
"...Bang!" As the time expired, Punisher fired a shot at the base of the corner.
"Roar!" A lizard man's calf was immediately shattered, causing it to collapse to the ground.
"Bang!" Saint took the opportunity to shoot the creature in the head.
"Ah haha, it's so cool! It's like cheating!" Saint lifted the lizard man's burly body, grinning with excitement. However, before he could revel in his victory, Merlin's voice crackled through the earpiece again.
"On top of number one!"
"Boom!" Before Saint could react, a shadow suddenly leaped from the stairs above, and in an instant, a lizard man with red electronic eyes tackled him to the ground.
"Roar!" The lizard man, now on top of Saint, immediately opened its bloody jaws, ready to bite.
"Damn it... lizard kid, your saliva is all over me!" Saint muttered in disgust, feeling the dripping mucus. But before the lizard man could strike, a bullet shell in Saint's mouth began to glow brightly.
"Bang!" The lizard man's head exploded on the spot!
"Oh! Shit, Wade! You're so disgusting! You actually stuffed that in there!" Merlin couldn't hold back his disgust as he saw through the surveillance camera that Deadpool, who was playing dead in the Hell's Kitchen tower, pulled out the serum from an unsavory spot.
"Disgusting? To be honest, it still smells kind of... ugh... okay, yeah, it's pretty disgusting," Deadpool admitted. "But as long as I can prove my strength and surpass that guy Frank, I'll do anything!"
Deadpool stood up, dusting himself off. He had entered the building under the tower and played dead step by step. On the rooftop, he had three serums in total. He left two outside to mislead the enemy, and the last one he had hidden in, well, an unconventional location.
"I'm really afraid you'll burst that potion holder when you get nervous," Merlin quipped, his lips curling in disgust, unable to imagine the scene if the serum had mixed with debris.
Merlin continued monitoring Uncle Punishment and the others. Compared to the chaotic scene Deadpool created, the battle involving Uncle Punishment and John was much more coordinated and efficient. In Brooklyn, Hell's Kitchen, and the Bronx, the teams operated in pairs. Their cooperation was seamless, with one person operating in the light while the other moved in the shadows.
Daredevil relied on his heightened hearing to navigate the darkness, carefully avoiding the lizard men as he made his way to the top of the tower. Meanwhile, John, with his trusty dog Duke, engaged in guerrilla warfare, taking advantage of the building's complex environment. With Merlin assisting by providing strategic intel, their missions progressed smoothly.
As the sky gradually brightened, a faint halo appeared on the horizon. Dawn was approaching.
"Boom~~~" A brilliant blue firework suddenly shot up from Brooklyn, exploding in the clouds!
"Brooklyn, done!"
"Woof woof!!" John, dressed in a suit, leaned against the Canary device and silently lit a cigarette.
"Hell's Kitchen, done!"
"Queens, done!"
"Statue of Liberty, done!"
One by one, reports of success crackled through the headset. Like a chain reaction, brilliant blue fireworks shot into the sky, exploding over New York City. The misty blue serum spread throughout the city, and as a ray of sunlight pierced through the blue clouds, it cast a warm, glowing path down onto the city below.
[Ding!] *[The human camp wins!]*
*[But new humans have emerged. Will they become a new race? Or are they aliens destined to be exterminated?]*
*[Stay tuned for the next game...]*
"Happy working together, guys!" At the top of the Osborn Building, Merlin held the headset in his hand, a smile playing on his lips. He sat on the edge alongside Arcee and Optimus Prime, their legs dangling over the city. The warm sunshine bathed them in a golden glow.
At the top of the Statue of Liberty's torch, Stark opened his mask and quietly sat on the edge, gazing at the dawn on the horizon. The corners of his mouth curled up as he listened to the words in the headset.
John took a drag from his cigarette, stroking Duke's head. The smoke drifted lazily in the air, catching the sunlight and emitting a faint golden hue. Matt, sitting cross-legged next to him like a monk, was accompanied by his vigilante mecha, which also sat cross-legged with a red blind stick resting on its legs.
Deadpool spread his arms wide, basking in the sunshine near the tower, allowing the birds to fly freely around him. Gwen, with her hood pulled up, crouched on the top of the tower, staring out at the city for a moment before leaping down.
Suddenly, a dull roar echoed over New York City. Rows of F-22 fighter jets streaked across the sky, followed closely by massive V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft. The Osprey, also the prototype for the Avengers Fortress in the game, was not a helicopter in the traditional sense but a fortress fighter aircraft that combined the features of a helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft. The rotors on both sides remained horizontal during takeoff and landing, allowing for vertical ascent and descent.
Once in the air, the Osprey switches its rotors to a forward tilt, resembling a Transformer, enabling fixed-wing high-speed flight. Its massive body soars through the sky like an aerial fortress. The fighter jets make roaring sounds as they streak across the sky, resembling hunting eagles scanning the ground below.
"Boom!!!" At this moment, Hobbes launched a signal flare into the sky, signaling that the crisis was over.
Merlin stood up and stretched his tired body, feeling the strain. "Seems like I need to work on my physical fitness," he muttered. "Pulling an all-nighter has left me a bit exhausted."
"Huh?" Suddenly, Merlin looked up and gasped in surprise. He noticed an Osprey fighter jet breaking away from the formation and heading toward him at an extremely high speed.
"Careful!" he shouted, alarmed by the sudden turn of events.
