"Whoosh, whoosh…" Comets streaked across the night sky over Los Santos, their fiery trails illuminating the city below. As they fell, their impacts sent shockwaves through the streets and surrounding regions. Sixty players clad in advanced battle armor descended upon the northern district of Los Santos, their mission clear.
Dominic hurried back to his modification shop, carrying Letty, who was barely conscious.
"Letty!" Dominic's voice trembled as he laid her on the workbench, his hands gripping the edges with white-knuckled tension.
Letty's condition was worsening. Dark silica patterns, resembling tattoos, crawled across her face. Her eyes had turned pitch-black, and her sharp fangs oozed saliva. She no longer looked human—a beastly transformation was taking over.
"Brother, what's happening to Letty?" Mia asked, her voice quivering as she stared at Letty, whose inky scales glistened ominously under the light.
"She was attacked by an infected monster," Dominic explained, his brow furrowed. "The virus is taking over her body. We need the serum immediately, or it'll be too late."
Dominic's desperation was palpable. Time was slipping away. Once Letty's cranial nerves were fully consumed, even the viral serum wouldn't save her.
Suddenly, a familiar notification tone pierced the silence.
"Ding!"
Brian glanced at his phone, his expression shifting to one of cautious hope.
"Boss! There's a solution. Check the mission update!"
Dominic quickly opened his phone, his eyes scanning the text with laser focus.
[Competition Ends]
[The Game Officially Starts]
[The First Batch of Airdrop Supplies Has Been Released]
Includes: Advanced weapons, vehicles, skill chips, silver weapons, virus serum…
"Virus serum!" Dominic's eyes lit up with determination.
"Quick! Let's get to those supplies!" Without hesitation, he climbed into his steel-armored vehicle and revved the engine.
"Brian, stay here with Mia and protect Letty," Dominic instructed.
Brian nodded, handing Mia a revolver. "If things go south… you know what to do."
Mia hesitated, her hands trembling. "I—I can't..."
"Protect yourself," Brian insisted, his tone leaving no room for argument. He turned and sprinted toward his own vehicle to follow Dominic, leaving Mia frozen in place.
In the northern district, Stark and his team also received the mission update.
"Airdrops, huh? This game keeps getting better," Stark mused, his armored boots clanking against the pavement.
Merlin hovered above the chaos, gazing down at the city. His glowing eyes scanned the landscape with a mixture of regret and nostalgia.
"Los Santos has fallen into darkness," he murmured, shaking his head. Familiar landmarks like Zancudo Military Base and Vinewood Hills stood out amidst the ruin. While the streets surrounding UV-protected zones bustled with desperate residents, the rest of the city remained eerily silent, cloaked in shadows.
Vampire aliens and their infected thralls stalked the darkness, preying on the unwary. Without silver weapons or UV lights, most players stood no chance against them.
The police and players worked tirelessly to protect the city, but their efforts were limited. UV lights created small safe zones, but the equipment was scarce. Makeshift bases became overcrowded as fleeing residents brought infected individuals with them, spreading chaos within the camps.
Along the Los Santos River, a faint purple glow illuminated a protective circle on the bridge. Residents huddled together in fear while police and players guarded the perimeter.
"Bang!" Horn fired his electromagnetic rifle at an advancing infected. The creature's head exploded, but its body refused to fall, regenerating rapidly.
Horn cursed under his breath, shooting the infected again, this time aiming for its chest.
[Points +1]
[Total Points: 130]
Horn, a retired soldier and veteran of Los Santos, clenched the silver cross around his neck as he prayed for strength. Though his equipment gave him an edge, he knew this fight was far from over.
Suddenly, a blinding light streaked across the sky.
"The airdrop is here!" a player shouted, pointing upward.
Dozens of parachutes descended, carrying three-cubic-meter crates filled with supplies. Players with advanced vehicles and jetpacks raced to claim them, but many airdrops landed in the heart of the city.
As thick smoke marked their landing spots, the air became electrified with anticipation.
Horn reloaded his rifle, glancing at the dwindling energy bar. Nearby, younger players struggled to fend off increasingly resilient infected.
"These things keep evolving!" one of them shouted, wasting multiple incendiary rounds on a single creature.
Horn sighed, knowing the airdrops were their only chance. The longer they waited, the stronger the infected would become.
As players converged on the landing zones, Dominic's team arrived in the northern district, ready to fight their way to the virus serum.
Above them, Merlin descended, his electric whip crackling with energy. Stark and Gwen joined him, each determined to restore order to the crumbling city.
In the shadows, Dominic, leader of the vampire aliens, watched with amusement. His voice echoed through the comms, chilling every player to their core.
"Humans... so predictable," he sneered. "Do you really think your supplies will save you?"
