The house had shutters on the windows facing the ocean. Lucan got wet putting them up but felt better because at least they had some cover from flying things coming off the beach. Lucan pushed a love seat up to the ocean-facing door to keep it from being blown open. Used a kitchen chair for the back door.
Just as he finished, the lights went out. It was late afternoon but so dark. They had water and some leftover food.
