Chapter 114 - Loosing All

Charles swiftly lost all of his chips again, as Luisa expected, leaving the spot on the table in front of him empty. That's how it works in gambling.

Charles' eyes widened with shock. He almost couldn't believe he'd lost the chips he'd received in return for Claudia's bracelet in such a short period.

He was furious, but he no longer had anything of value with him to sell.

"Could any of you lend me some money? I will undoubtedly win and repay my losses. I guarantee to reimburse the money promptly if I win! Anyone here?" Charles abruptly turned to look at his fellow poker players at the table and those around it.

"Who would be foolish enough to lend you money? You pledged to pay me $7500 after borrowing $6000 from me two days ago, but you didn't return anything! Tell me, do you have money?"

"Exactly! You still owe the Grand8 $96,000.00. Could you not assume we have forgotten? Who would dare lend you money? You pay us first, and then let's talk about lending you money," the folks around muttered disgustingly.

Gamblers believed they might win the next round and recoup their losses, but they frequently lost much more heavily. As they lost more, they became increasingly fascinated, but they were often oblivious to it. In the end, they will lose every penny they have.

Charles panicked and blushed when he realized no one would lend him money to recoup his losses. No amount of begging would suffice. But he would not surrender. He knew that there was someone who would lend him money to regain his losses.

Someone said from behind him, "I can lend you four hundred thousand dollars!"

His voice was like sweet music in Charles' ears. He whirled around to find a dashing young scion standing behind him. It was the same man who offered to lend him $400,000!

This was Ferry Mason.

Charles leaped at Ferry like a hungry guy who had finally found food.

Ferry grinned indifferently. "However, you must repay me 480,000 dollars, plus interest, tonight. Otherwise, you must put everything you own or are associated with on the line."

"Sure, no problem!" Charles agreed without thinking.

In his opinion, if he had $400,000 in capital, he could win several times that amount. So, $480,000 would be fine for him!

Charles didn't even consider how he could repay the $480,000 if he lost because he believed it would never happen!

He was confident that he would break his losing record and start winning, and he was confident that he would win the game this time.

Ferry remained nothing when he saw Charles' bloodshot eyes and promptly convinced him to sign an IOU for $480,000.

Then he took a bank card from his wallet and presented it to Luisa, who exchanged it for $400,000 in chips.

His fingers twitched excitedly when Charles saw the stack of chips before him.

After gambling for so long in this clubhouse, it was his first time handling so many chips. He was confident that he would win!

Charles' eyes were ablaze as he cried, "Come on, let's go! It's my chance to make up my losses next! I know I can win this time! Hurry up! Hurry up!"

With so many chips in hand, Charles gained confidence and began betting more significant stakes than before, with the crowd cheering him on.

It wasn't long before the chips in front of Charles began to dwindle. In less than an hour, he had lost all 400,000 dollars worth of chips!

Ferry felt strangely happy as he looked at the money he'd lent and lost. His plan is coming to life.

Charles' face paled. His heart was nearly exploding as he saw that the chips before him had been pushed to others once more. His eyes were bloodshot.

He turned abruptly to look at Ferry. "Hey, if you lend me another $200,000, no, $100,000, I will surely win back the entire amount! I will return every penny I promised you plus the interest!"

Charles set his hopes in Ferry.

This time, Ferry shook his head. "Sir, I've already lent you 400,000, and you've lost everything. But you still dare to ask me to lend you more money. What do you have that you could return to me? We are not connected, yet I was able to lend you so much money. His words making sense."Don't you all agree?"

The others around them agreed quickly. "Yes, this young man has nothing to do with you." He was already kind and generous enough to lend you so much money in one sitting! "Charles Reed, do not be ungrateful! You better answer his questios."

Charles felt apprehensive and stressed. When he saw Luisa beside Ferry, he quickly pointed to her. "She is my niece! That makes us related, right? Lend me another three hundred thousand, and I will not break my pledge!"

Luisa had been standing behind Ferry for a long time and had just exchanged the chips for Charles. Charles had been staring at the chips and had only just spotted her.

Ferry pretended to be astonished before glancing at Luisa in amazement. "What? Is this man your uncle? Is that true, Luisa?"

Luisa rolled her eyes at Charles. "I don't have an uncle who doesn't repay what he owes yet dares to borrow money from others. "I don't know this person at all!" Charles felt nervous and attempted to grab Luisa's arm. "Luisa, how can you claim you don't know me? I am your uncle, Charles Reed! You frequently came to our house when you were younger to play!" He tried to convince the people around them.

Ferry stopped Charles, who was no longer as joyful as previously. Instead, his expression darkened as he stared at Charles. "I felt sorry when I saw you had lost so much money. I didn't expect you to be this person. You're even attempting to lie and claim that she's a relative. In this scenario, give me back the $480,000 you owe me right now!"

As Ferry talked, he slapped the IOU Charles had just signed on the table before him.

"Charles Reed, you attempted to claim that someone else is your family falsely! She doesn't even know you."

Furthermore, even if she does, you cannot simply write off your debt because she is a relative.

"Exactly! Hurry, and return the money! "480,000 dollars is not a small sum!"

"Can he afford this? He's already lost all of his money. "I bet he doesn't even have a thousand dollars."

"Hahaha, you can't afford it, so don't get the loan! You were so courageous to bet so much money right now! Yet you don't have enough money. What a loser."

Charles began sweating profusely due to the constant conversation of the poker players around him.

Four hundred eighty thousand dollars was a large sum of money that he clearly could not repay.

If he had so much money, he wouldn't need to take Claudia's bracelet to sell! Now he is on the loosing end.
