"You are... Mr. Mason, right?" Claudia fixed Ferry with a fierce gaze.
Ferry quickly bowed. "Hello, Aunt Claudia. You can call me Ferry."
Ferry's actions overjoyed Claudia. What an excellent pick for a son-in-law! He's extremely friendly and modest and addresses me with such affection. He must have heard about us and has most likely developed feelings for my daughter.
However, if Claudia knew that Ferry only recognized her because Luisa always referred to her as 'Claudia the Shrek' whenever she cursed at their family before him, she would look much less pleased. But of course, Claudia is not aware of what is hiding in Ferry's mind.
Claudia's feelings for Ferry grew stronger as she looked at him. She pointed to the chair in front of her. "Okay, I won't stand for the ceremony then. Ferry, take a seat."
"I'll be imposing on everyone then," Ferry replied nicely, pulling Luisa into a chair near him.
Charlotte was furious when she saw this incident. "Mom, this family meal commemorates Anastasia's promotion to General Manager. "Why do you let them stay? They are not family."
Claudia poked Charlotte's forehead and said, "You stupid girl!"
In response to Charlotte's unhappy expression, Claudia couldn't say anything else and smiled, "We're all related. There is nothing wrong with sharing a meal. Besides, it's a celebration, so the more the merrier!"
Charlotte was already very agitated. However, because they had already sat down, she could not chase them away and only remained furiously seated.
Claudia could no longer be bothered to soothe her daughter. She merely stared at Ferry, assaulting him with questions about his age, marital status, family, and so on. She was interested in Ferry's background and wanted to know him better for her daughters.
Luisa immediately sulked next to him. Claudia's motives were obvious, even to a fool.
Claudia had previously presented Ferry as her lover, yet she continued doing this. Does she think I don't exist? What kind of mother she is by doing this to her daughters?
Luisa was infuriated. She was about to lose her passion and throw a fit, but Ferry grabbed her fingers under the table to warn her not to do so.
Luisa tolerated her rage. Charlotte was no fool; she knew exactly what her mother was up to.
Charlotte had an unfavorable opinion of Ferry Mason. Although he appeared friendly, he had been staring at Anastasia since he walked in, much to Anastasia's disgust. She could tell from a glance that he was flirty. Charlotte is disgusted by this kind of attitude from a man, especially since Anastasia has a husband who is sitting beside her!
Even if he weren't Luisa's boyfriend, Charlotte wouldn't want to date him because she was not drawn to him.
"That's enough, Mom." Why are you asking so many questions? What matters to us about someone's boyfriend's family? Charlotte interjected with disdain. She could not tolerate anymore.
"Leave me be. Why can't I ask?" Claudia rolled her eyes at Charlotte. She said gently, "It is still uncertain who his future son-in-law will be."
Luisa had a keen sense of hearing but immediately lost it when she heard these words. She rose abruptly and shouted to Claudia angrily, "Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. Aunt Claudia, this is my lover. Will you please respect yourself? Stop whatever your plan!"
"Hi, I'm your aunt. Is that the tone you should use when talking to me, Luisa? You are so disrespectful! How did your mother teach you? You have no respect for your elders! How would you respect your elders once you get married? "If I were Ferry, I would have dumped you long ago. With that kind of attitude, I bet you cannot even stand to the elders of Mason."
Claudia had never lost an argument before. Besides, her daughter was now the General Manager of Spark Enterprises, so she wouldn't take a young lady like Luisa seriously. She will berate her until Luisa backed down.
Luisa was so enraged that her cheeks flushed crimson, and she wanted to scratch Claudia's despicable face with her fists. She cannot do that because Ferry is sitting beside her.
Claudia's family was present, and she would face consequences if she hit or reprimanded her. She could only grab Ferry's arm and growl, "Ferry, I can't take it anymore. They are being bullies! Let's go!"
However, Ferry shook her hand and continued, frowning, "It's true that you were wrong just now. Hurry up and apologize to Aunt Claudia. Disrespecting her is not an excuse."
"What? "You want me to apologize?" Luisa stared with bewilderment. Why should I apologize? She knew you were my boyfriend, but she kept asking those questions. She was the shameless one attempting to incite conflict between me and my partner. What did I do wrong? I was just defending myself."
Smack!
He slapped her hard across the face. Luisa cocked her head to the side and hid her face, staring at Ferry with astonishment. "You hit me?"
Ferry glanced at Luisa coldly. "You were disrespectful to your elder, but you are still unrepentant. I truly feel disappointed! The bride I want to marry will never be someone like you who does not know how to behave appropriately. Let's end our relationship and never speak again! We're done!"
Luisa trembled and fell into tears, staring at Ferry in bewilderment. "You want to break up with me? But..why?"
Ferry had been quite lovely to her lately, and they had even discussed marriage while they were at the door just now. She never imagined he'd strike her and even end their relationship over a minor disagreement. She couldn't believe what was happening right now.
"Yes. Aunt Claudia is correct. She is your aunt, but you were insulting to her. If you marry me in the future, you will disrespect the elders in my family. I don't dare to marry you because you have such a bad personality," Ferry declared righteously. Inciting her lapses in front of everyone.
When Luisa observed Ferry's chilly demeanor, her heart quivered. She realized he wasn't joking when he said he wanted to end their relationship! It's so sudden!
Luisa began to panic. She had surrendered herself to Ferry long ago and was on the verge of marrying him. Her relatives, including her grandfather Thaddeus, were also happy. If Ferry broke up with her right now, she'd be humiliated to face others.
"I apologize, Ferry; I was incorrect! I care too much about you, and I was so upset that I spoke brutally to my aunt. I did not intend to offend my elder! I'll apologize to her right now. Please forgive me this time." Luisa hugged Ferry and sobbed pitifully.
On the other hand, Ferry refuses to compromise and instead pushes her away. "Get lost!"
Luisa was wearing high heels, and after being pushed, she lost her balance and fell to the ground.
However, Ferry would not even look at her and instead apologized to Claudia, "Sorry, Aunt Claudia. I apologize for today's negative attitude. Anastasia and Charlotte, I'm sad too. I will visit you and make amends someday. Goodbye."
After saying this, he stared at Anastasia and Charlotte before turning around and leaving.
When she saw Ferry leave, Luisa, crying on the ground, couldn't take it any longer and got up to follow him. "Ferry! "Ferry, wait for me. Please don't leave me."
