Ethan feels better now. He reasoned that Anastasia would probably not want to divorce him for the sake of their daughter. But the cause didn't matter if she wanted to stay with him. He had long decided to make it up to them twice in the future, hoping to win her heart eventually.
Dylan, who had been waiting outside the Reeds' house for quite some time, caught up with Ethan after he had departed. "Ethan, those products presented to the Reeds were produced with Damien Monroe, the richest man in Emerald Coast County. "There is also a letter for you."
Ethan took Dylan's envelope, opened it, and read it with a cheeky smile: "The head of the Monroe family is intriguing. Despite my ongoing battle with the Quinns, we can still try to use him. Go tell him I've appreciated his kindness."
"Okay, Ethan."
After performing some more errands, Ethan arrived at Orion Industries' office tower, which is located in Emerald Coast County's Central Business District. His emotions were immensely complex when he saw the massive and magnificent office tower and the familiar emblem. Emma Knight, his mother, created the company on her own.
She was an exceptional, intelligent, and beautiful woman. If she hadn't met his father, she may have advanced her career and been a legendary career woman. Unfortunately, she had been misinformed about the Quinns her entire life. And she lost control of the company she had worked so hard to build. She was humiliated and banished from the Quinns' house. As a result, she had to endure immense struggles to raise Ethan, and she died from exhaustion.
Ethan clenched his fist and vowed that one day he would return to the high-up Quinns to demand justice for his mother and himself! At this point, a flashy metallic red Lamborghini sports vehicle appeared before the Orion Industries office tower, and two stunning women alighted.
"Charlotte, you're fortunate! The scion of the Monroe family, Emerald Coast County's richest family, has taken an interest in you! He is a wealthy second-generation heir with a fortune large enough to last several lives. "I am so envious!" A short-haired woman in an Orion Industries outfit touched the gleaming, sleek Lamborghini sports car with longing, full of envy.
"After you marry the scion of the Monroe family and live in the lap of luxury, don't forget me, your best friend!"
"Do not worry. "How could I forget you?" exclaimed another giggling girl with a stylish permed haircut. Charlotte was Anastasia's younger sister. She touched the short-haired woman's shoulder. "I still need your aid! Please give me a break for the interview later."
"Be assured. I, Bea Lime, am the chief of the human resources department and in charge of recruitment. I instructed you to come to the interview only to go through the motions in case someone purposely picked on me."
"Hehe, that's great. I'll treat you to a feast when you get off work later!"
They were conversing chummily. When they turned their heads, Charlotte noticed Ethan standing at the building's entrance.
"What are you doing here?" Her face became morose, and she charged at Ethan aggressively, asking, "Hey, you-good-for-nothing, are you tailing me? Please tell me what your aims are.
Ethan was in a bad mood when he saw her leave the Lamborghini he had mainly ordered for Anastasia. He hadn't forgotten the dirty glare the disgusting Reed family had just given him. Is she displaying off my gift? "Is there something wrong with you?" Ethan questioned with hostility.
"You!" Charlotte, Anastasia's younger sister and Emerald Coast County's finest beauty, was also a self-proclaimed beauty. She was well-liked and frequently flattered by many. She had never been insulted in front of her face before, so she flushed beet red with rage.
"Charlotte, who is this?" Bea inquired as she walked over and examined Ethan with curiosity. The guy in front of them is handsome and is approximately 1.85 meters tall. However, his clothes appear plain, and his outfit is most likely worth less than $30.
Charlotte cast a scornful gaze at Ethan. "He is the good-for-nothing who married my sister. He stole $50,000 from my father a few years ago and now dares to return it. He even caused a commotion at our house just now. He degraded Silas Clay and angered my sister to tears."
Bea's eyes abruptly widened in surprise. Charlotte's sister, Anastasia, was embroiled in a major controversy at the time, which was well publicized. Even after several years, some people continued to discuss it.
Bea's parents often asked her, "Why do you girls aspire to be so capable? Look at Anastasia. So, what if she became the CEO? Her reputation suffered in the end, and she was even discarded and abandoned by her wastrel husband."
Bea had always imagined Anastasia's loser husband as filthy, sleazy, lazy, ignorant, and unattractive. She didn't expect him to be as attractive in person. But what if he's handsome? He's useless and incompetent, a complete scumbag.
Bea tried to smile politely despite her feelings of hatred. "Excuse me, but irrelevant personnel are not permitted to loiter at the door of the Orion Industries office. "Please leave."
Ethan took a quick glimpse at her before walking into the lobby. He couldn't be bothered saying anything to her.
"Hold it!" Bea dashed forward to stop him, enraged. "Don't you get what I said? Don't venture further inside. Our company will not accept someone like you!"
Ethan paused, his eyes steely as he glanced at Bea. "Someone like me?" Do you know who I am?
Charlotte scoffed. "You think you're a big shot? Please go before we call security!"
Ethan took a long breath, attempting to cool his temper. "I am not here to make trouble. "I have an appointment with the Chairman."
"The Chairman?" Bea laughed mockingly. "You must be delusional." "Why would the Chairman meet with somebody like you?"
