That was nice. Drawing your first blood is always special. Anyways, this was getting annoying now.
The two scout ships, seeing their boarding attempts fail and Queen not taking enough damage from their ramming to matter, decided to circle us.
I thought that was weird at first, thinking they would disengage and retreat but then I realised they were trying to stall for time. Reinforcements would make things difficult.
"FULL SAIL, BREAKTHROUGH THEM, HOLD FAST MEN!"
I tried ramming one of them while it was in front of us trying to circle around. The scout ship was fast and we were going to miss it but got lucky with a strong gust of wind and rammed into the side of its stern.
Before they could run I made Queen start the process of absorption on their ship, becoming joined together and slowly the scout ship got smaller and smaller.
"GET READY FOR BOARDERS MEN!"
While the assimilation process was going on the Hyrisians realised something was wrong and some of them decisively jumped from the ship to the sea and some tried boarding and succeeded.
The cacophony of my crew and the enemy clashing, my excited laughter and the groaning of the enemy ship while assimilation all mixed together.
I saw the ever-quiet Evelyn swinging her two-handed warhammer and crushing any who came close to her charge. She hit a man with gills and buzzsaw like teeth right on the head and crushed it to a pulp on the spot, grabbed a guy with sea urchin spikes on his body by the throat and headbutted him then threw him aboard the ship.
Damn, she is fucking HOT.
Gloria didn't do much but that was fine, she was an amateur anyway. Maria was much more precise and reserved about who to kill. She was picking off only those who got close to Gloria and those that would turn the tide of battle in our favor.
"HALF SAIL, GET READY TO FIRE!"
I focused my attention on the other scout ship. With half sails, we could maintain some speed and get more maneuverability. I lined up the ship ready to fire and took the shot.
"FIRE!"
60 cannons on our right hull all took a shot. This time we must have hit something of importance because the ship finally stalled.
I looked at the wooden ship covered with pieces of reefs, barnacles or seaweed. Behind all that, it was still a wooden ship of surface design.
Apparently, they don't make their own ships and instead take over other nations' ships and modify them with their own alchemists.
My musings as to the origins of these ships were cut short however.
A warship almost the same size as Queen breached the surface of the sea. This one didn't have cannons either but there was a gigantic purple shark with chains wrapped around it, pulling the warship, and occasionally there was purple electricity emanating from its body that got absorbed by the chains.
Helga came up to me and exclaimed.
"Captain that's a Storm Shark! We can't fight that thing."
I grinned. We didn't have to fight the shark.
"Donny take the helm and get us close to that ship."
Everyone looked at me like I was an alien.
Maria and many others understandably questioned my decision.
"Captain, are you sure this is the right course of action? This might cost us our lives, not just yours."
"HAHAHAHAHAHA"
I looked around me and realised all I was surrounded by was fear and uncertainty.
"Oh, ye of little faith. Have some backbone you swabs. All you need to do is stick to the plan. It's simple, get us close enough to board and leave the rest to me. Make sure to occupy the Storm Shark while I'm away."
"AWAY!?!?"
Maria spoke up again in disbelief.
"Are you absolutely sure about this?"
"I told you this before Maria, Legends aren't born from mildness."
Everyone scrambled to their stations to get ready for a fight.
I made Coco go up to the crow's nest for safety and took up position on the railings while holding a rope.
The enemy warship was most likely thinking that we would be overtaken by the scout ships by now and didn't surface close enough.
Donny got us as close as possible to the warship while staying away from the purple shark and when I finally saw the chance I swung to the enemy ship. Queen even gave me some lift with the rope.
I jumped at the highest point of my swing. Thankfully the Storm Shark wasn't moving due to not having received orders yet.
I landed right in the middle of the ship.
"Good afternoon gentlemen. Nice, sunny day we are having yes?"
They looked surprised and were just about to come to their senses but before they could I acted.
"How would you like to see the Darkness of the night instead?"
I activated my Darkness to spread on the deck and even take over the lower decks. The surprised looks of the aquatic demi-humans were a sight to see.
They attempted to attack right then but became aware too late that they couldn't. Being swallowed up by the inky black Darkness.
I deflected a few spears and harpoons thrown at me with my haki coated arms and kept absorbing everyone and the ship until eventually there wasn't anyone left.
The ship itself was groaning and creaking under the gravitational pull of a Black Hole.
Not even light could escape the pull. Eventually, the whole ship got lost in the Darkness and only the shark and its chains remained. Before my last foothold was gone I jumped on the shark.
Seeing that its captors were gone, it started thrashing around to escape the chains. Before it could run away I pulled out my cutlass and cut a part out of its tail fin, put the fin in my pocket and jumped on the water.
The Storm Shark seeing me in the water attempted to approach me but before it could, I released all that my Darkness absorbed.
Broken and bleeding bodies alongside with ship parts got launched with incredible force all around me. The Shark finally decided it wasn't worth the hassle and left while it still had its freedom.
I surfaced for the ocean surface and jumped up on a broken wooden part.
"How's that for a Legend?"
