Zach could somewhat see his surroundings, but he wasn't far from being functionally blind. But before he could find a solution to that, he had to ask,
"...What happened?" His voice was a little unsteady.
The maids exchanged looks, silently agreeing on who would answer Zach's question.
"You looked at that person with your Eyes of Truth, Master," Mandra answered. It had happened due to the skill he got from her contract, after all. It made sense for her to answer. Since she had a similar ability, she also felt partially responsible. Maybe if she had told Zach more about the skill's possible effects, this wouldn't have happened.
It had been too sudden. From what she had heard from the others and Zach himself, first learning to activate his skills never came easy.
