Warehouse
The workers exchanged worried looks. Some shuffled around, uncomfortable, while others just stayed rooted in place, trying to figure out what was happening. A younger worker whispered to an older colleague, "What do we do? Should we call someone?"
Carter raised his hand to silence them, his mind working. He kept his face neutral as he addressed Daniels. "This is a private facility. You can't be here without a warrant."
Daniels smirked, pulling a folded paper from his vest. "We've got one, all signed and approved. Now, if you could move, we need to get some things done."
Carter clenched his jaw but nodded, signaling the workers to cooperate. The agents spread out, moving quickly and efficiently. They started opening crates, checking what was inside, and recording everything on their gadgets.
One of the agents called out, "Sir, over here!" Daniels walked over and checked out a crate full of small, neatly packed parcels. He smirked, holding up a sample. "Well, well. What do we have here?"
Carter's heart sank when Daniels waved the parcel in the air. "Looks like your operation isn't as clean as you thought."
Baldwin's Mansion
Meanwhile back at Blaze's mansion, the phone in his study buzzed non-stop. Blaze, who was still reeling from the failed warehouse search earlier, answered it. On the line was Carter, one of his trusted guys at the raided warehouse.
"Boss," Carter said, sounding urgent. "We've got a problem. The narcotics team is raiding Warehouse 12."
Blaze's eyes narrowed. "How the hell did they find it?"
"I don't know," Carter replied. "But they've got a warrant and are tearing everything apart."
Blaze fist slammed the desk. "I'll deal with is. Pull back and let them take what they want. Don't resist."
"But, Boss—"
"Do as I say!" Blaze snapped before hanging up.
Blaze walked around the room, his head whirlwind with thoughts. The raid alone wouldn't have gotten him this mad; it was the timing. Rodriguez. He was sure of it. This was no coincidence. Rodriguez was moving pieces on the board, trying to dismantle Blaze's empire piece by piece.
Arthur entered the study, noticing Blaze's tense demeanor. "What's going on?"
"The warehouse. Rodriguez tipped off the narcotics department," Blaze said, his voice cold and clipped. "He's trying to weaken my foundation while keeping Savannah just out of reach."
Arthur frowned. "What's the plan?"
Blaze turned to him, looking dead serious. "We adapt. Get me everything on Rodriguez's movement. I want his every ally, every safe house, and every transaction he's made in the last month."
Arthur nodded. "Understood."
Back at the Warehouse
As the agents continued their raid, Daniels pulled Carter aside. "You've got some explaining to do. What's in those crates, and who's behind all this?"
Carter looked right back at him. "I'm just the supervisor. I don't know more than the logistics."
Daniels gave a sarcastic smile. "Sure. Well, let's see how long you keep that story once you're in custody."
The raid continued for hours. By the time the agents were done, they had seized a big chunk of Blaze's stuff. Carter and a few others were taken in for questioning, leaving the warehouse eerily silent in their wake.
Baldwin's Mansion
Back at his mansion, Blaze sat in the dim light of his study, looking out the window. His mind was racing with anger and determination. This wasn't just about Savannah, it was about sending a message. Rodriguez had made his move, but Blaze wasn't about to let him win.
"Enjoy your little victory." Blaze muttered to himself. "Because when I strike back, you would be pleading for mercy."
