Rodriguez's house
Veronica sat on the edge of the bed, her hands shaking as she held the pen. The paper in front of her was blank, but her mind was a mess. Tears ran down her face, smearing the ink as she wrote, spilling out all the desperation she'd been feeling for the past week.
Every word was like a silent cry, showing her pain, her need for freedom, and the love she had for someone who wasn't her husband. When she finished, she folded the paper into a small square and held it tight in her hand, her heart pounding with hope. Maybe this letter could be her lifeline, a way to reach Romano, the only person who really understood her, the only one who made her feel alive in the dark, suffocating world she shared with Rodriguez.
The door swung open, surprising her. It was Amelie, the maid, carrying a tray of food. Veronica looked confused; she couldn't remember the last time she had been offered anything to eat. For four days, she had only had water from the jug in the room, leaving her body weak, but her spirit still fighting. Amelie's kind smile seemed like a rare moment of warmth in her dark situation. "You need to eat, Mrs. Rodriguez" the maid said softly, setting the tray down beside her.
"How could you be here?" Veronica asked, her voice rough. "Rodriguez... he doesn't let anyone in."- "Mr. Rodriguez and his men are gone," Amelie said, her voice gentler. "You're safe now." Veronica's eyes lit up with a tiny glimmer of hope. "Then get me out of this room!" she begged, her voice shaking with desperation.
But Amelie shook her head, her smile fading. "I can't. There are still guards outside. It's not safe." Veronica's face fell, and despair took over. But Amelie put a gentle hand on her shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "I brought you some food. Please, eat."
Veronica looked at the meal, her mind racing. Then an idea hit her, bold and exciting.
"Amelie," she said, her voice shaking with urgency. "I need you to do something for me."
The maid hesitated, looking unsure. "What is it?" Veronica leaned in, her heart pounding. She handed over the small folded note, hoping it could make their way to the right place. "Please, take this to Baldwin's place. Give it to anyone there." Amelie's eyes grew wide with fear. "I can't! You know what Mr. Rodriguez would do if he found out..."
"Please," Veronica begged, her voice trembling with fear. "You know what he can do. If I stay here, things will only get worse. You have to help me." The maid hesitated, glancing nervously at the door, as if she thought Rodriguez might come in at any second. But seeing the determination in Veronica's voice and the pain on her face, Amelie's doubts faded. She finally nodded. "Alright, I'll help."
Veronica's heart filled with gratitude. "Thanks," she whispered, feeling hopeful for the first time in days. "Please, don't let anyone know about this." Amelie took the note, looking both scared and determined. "I'll be careful. Just hang in there, Mrs. Rodriguez." As the maid left, Veronica's heart beat fast with a mix of hope and worry. This could be her chance-her way out. All she had to do was wait and trust that Amelie would get the message through safely.
Blaze's Office
Santos walked into Blaze's office tensed everywhere. As he entered the office the room was shiny and fancy, showing off Blaze's success from all his big deals and risky investments. As Santos got closer to the big desk, he saw a hint of curiosity in Blaze's eyes. "Good to see you, Santos," Blaze said, giving him a firm handshake.
"I wanted to chat about your investment in Ibotta. That was quite a move." Santos's face went from friendly to confused. "How did you find out about that? It's supposed to be a secret. Not even my closet ones knows." He squinted his eyes "And it's impressive how you've summoned me here"
Blaze chuckled and shook his head, like he found Santos's naivety funny. "In our world, secrets don't stay secret for long. I didn't call you hete to cause trouble; you're here to get info's, life saving info's."
Santo arched his brows at the sentence left Blaze's mouth, Santo knew Blaze they had a few deals in the past, and many more to come, so when he received an invitation to his office he couldn't resist, he knew if Blaze had called there must be something beneficial for him, so here he is.
"Rodriguez is using you, Santos. He's pulling a fast one on guys like you." Santos leaned back on the chair opposite Blaze, looking doubtful. "Rodriguez? A businessman like him trying to con me? That's hard to believe." Blaze Scoffed "He had been scamming you and many big name's with all your money"
Blaze said, looking directly in Santos eyes. "He's manipulating things behind the scenes. He's not as he acts." Santos thought about the possibilities but couldn't find anything suspicions to him "Really?" Santos asked, getting more tense. "What proof do you have? Why should I believe you?"
"Trust me or not, you're not here to see how reliable I am. You're here to see how Rodriguez is really playing your money," Blaze said, his voice getting more serious. He turned to Arthur, Santos's always-alert secretary.
"Arthur, can you show Santos the info we've got?" Arthur moved fast, grabbing his iPad. As he stepped up to Santos, Blaze noticed how the businessman's attitude changed. Santos's doubt turned to interest as he started scrolling through the documents on the screen.
The room fell silent, the air heavy with tension. Blaze watched as Santos's eyes widened and his face turned pale with each new piece of information. It was obvious he was struggling to process the betrayal. "Unbelievable...fucker!" Santos whispered, his voice a mix of agony and anger. "Rodriguez has been playing me?"- "That bastard!!"
Blaze leaned in, keeping his voice low and steady. "This isn't just a bad deal; it's a trap. You've been fooled and he's sleeping well with his Black money." Blaze added "All your money he had been enjoying for years" The words hit Santos like a punch in the gut. "I'll get every last cent back," he said, his voice growing stronger. "Rodriguez will pay for this."
Blaze nodded, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. "You've got what It takes to turn things around." Santos's determination grew, a fierce look in his eyes. "This isn't over. I'll make sure he regrets crossing me."
Santos stood up to leave, Blaze had set everything in motion, and now the real battle was about to start. Santos was someone not to be messed with, and Blaze was eager to see how it all played out.
The words will spread like a virus.
