After one month,
Elena has been staying at Gracy's house for almost a month now, and Raven hadn't visited the store since then.
Elena got along pretty well with Gracy, as the old woman had been living alone for years, having someone to talk to naturally made her happy. Furthermore, Elena was an excellent artist. Since Gracy sold antique-style books, which are mostly copied by hand, including the pictures in those books, having a skilled artist like Elena was a boon for her.
Elena's life, which had experienced a rollercoaster ride of depressing events, slowly settled down to a peaceful state.
As usual, Elena was drawing the picture of an eight-winged unicorn, a rare monster found in Celestia, for the new copy of a book she was making. Suddenly, she felt as though the world around her was spinning, and her vision went dark. With a thud, she fell to the floor and fainted.
After some time, when Elena woke up, she found herself lying on her bed. Turning to the side, she saw Gracy talking to a middle-aged woman who was wearing a white doctor's coat. The woman also had a golden magic staff almost as long as herself in her hand.
For some reason, Elena saw yellow-colored divine essence particles in the atmosphere surrounding the staff in the woman's hand. "A light element divine," Elena unconsciously murmured, though she herself was not sure why she could see the light element divine essence particles around the woman's staff.
"Oh, my dear child, you are awake," Gracy came to Elena's side upon seeing that she had opened her eyes.
"I will take my leave then, Miss Gracy. Please inform her about the situation," the woman with the magic staff flashed a smile at Elena after talking to Gracy and left the room.
After the woman left, Elena turned to Gracy, hoping for an answer from her. Gracy remained silent for some time, then with a forced smile, she said, "The news might be a little shocking for you, so calm down. No matter what your decision is, this old woman will support you."
Elena smiled, "Even if it's a disease that is going to claim my life, I am not afraid of it. You can speak freely, Aunt Gracy."
Gracy rubbed Elena's head and said in a heavy tone, "You are pregnant."
"WHAT?" Elena sat up on the bed in shock.
Gracy stopped her from standing up, "Calm down, calm down. You fainted due to being pregnant. Doctor Mary had confirmed it."
Elena lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling blankly, her eyes unknowingly becoming wet.
"It's Sir Raven's child, isn't it?" Gracy asked.
Elena blankly nodded.
"Do you have a way to contact him?" Gracy further asked, to which Elena shook her head.
Gracy sighed, "I also don't have a way to tell him about your situation. He never left behind his contact details."
Elena didn't say anything; she remained silent.
"I know it was an accident between you two. Don't think Aunt is being cruel here by saying this, but if you are not ready for a child now, you can choose to have an abortion. But if you wish to have it, then I will also support you. Feeding one more mouth is not a problem for me," Gracy said.
Elena wiped the tears from her eyes and said with a smile, "I want to keep it. It's not my child's fault that he was born. I can't bear to destroy my own child even before he saw this world."
Gracy also smiled, "Good that you think that way."
As such, days passed. After 8 months, Elena gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Like his mother, the boy also had deep purple eyes, but unlike her purple hair, he had black hair, which he had obviously inherited from his father.
"So, what do you think of naming your baby boy?" Gracy asked Elena as she carried the newborn in her hand.
"Elen Draven," Elena replied with a smile.
"A name that carries both yours and his father's name in it, huh? I guess it's pretty good," Gracy said as she carried the sleeping newborn in her hand.
"I don't think he will ever accept me or my child. At least giving my child a name that carries his father's name is the most I can do as his mother," Elena replied as she looked at the ring in her hand.
Gracy sighed. She wanted to console Elena by saying Raven was not such a person and he will surely accept her but the fact that he had not even contacted Elena after he left her in her shop for almost a year now made her believe otherwise.
