In a space between life and death, a void of unchanging nothingness,
Ace asked himself,
'How long has it been since I first arrived here . . . A thousand years . . . Maybe more?'
'I wouldn't know, In void of silent nothingness, I can't feel anything, no sensation, no perception, I didn't even know If I was dead or alive, the only thing I can feel is my own consciousness,
but even that was eroded by the harsh silence of the void, I could barely form a train of thought, my conscious was becoming as empty as the surrounding void,'
Sighing in desperation, Ace thought to himself, as he always did to distract himself from the piercing silence of the void
'Maybe there had been others here before me, that existed in the void, that were eroded by the void, and became part of the void, what if the void was just an ocean of empty souls?
Playing their silent serenade, seducing other souls to join them, to become a part of the void,
And how much longer was it,
Till I succumbed to their silent plea,
Till I became a part of their silent orchestra, Singing my own song of silence.
When will all this suffering end?'
While ace was contemplating the moment his existence would crumble, a little piece of light appeared in the void, above him, shining it's light on him, bringing him the first sensation he had felt in years,
It also brought to him an emotion he thought he lost forever,
Hope!
Ace didn't know what this piece of light was, but this was the first thing he felt since he first arrived in the void, he would be damned if he didn't chase after it.
Ace swam with all his effort toward the piece of light, even though he didn't have arms to swim with, his desire was like a propeller that pushed him toward his goal.
As Ace approached the ball of light, he felt an attraction from it, like a piece of the puzzle-that was his existence-had been found,
Accompanied by a feeling of ascension, he entered that piece of light.
then he felt a strong sense of vertigo, because of the complex string of sensations that assaulted his psyche,
The feeling of his skin laying on a soft piece of fabric,
The sight of a young body resting on a mattress in a room with an all-white Interior,
The pungent smell of medicine wasting through the air,
They all felt novel to ace, he hadn't felt anything for a long time, to the extent he forgot what his 5 senses felt like.
After adjusting to the feeling of having a body,
Ace got off the bed, taking off the bandages that was wrapped around his hand, revealing the faint scars underneath,
'where am I?,why am I in a body of a teenager,And why do I have these scars, on my body, it's like I fought a tiger'
Ace took a deep breath, to enjoy the sweet scent in of life
'oh what the heck, those questions don't matter, what does is that I finally got out of the void,'
"I see you've awoken" an old man in the corner of the room.
Ace tilted his head in confusion, he couldn't understand a word of what he was saying,
"It's okay to be confused, you were in quite the condition when I found you in the 'forest of opportunities' " He said again, this with Ace understanding it, because of the flood of memories, the old man's words triggered.
"When you've gotten your bearings, and can think clearly, you can pay your bills and leave" the old man said standing up to leave, with the cane on his hand making a large clicking sound as he leaned against it for support.
"But I don't have any money on me"
Ace said in a choppy voice, as he struggled to use the new language he just understood, evoking a harsh glare from the old man, Before he calmed down and put his hand on his rough white beard showing a thoughtful look.
Before saying with a weird smile on his face,
"Then you'll have to pay me in another way"
Ace felt a chill on his back when he heard that,
'why is this strange old man smiling'
