"Are you sure you don't wanna borrow one of my dresses?"

Emerald didn't even spare a look at Saoirse, the sting of her betrayal still too young, too alive, "Our tastes are misaligned, and our bodies are not very alike, you're also taller than me by a lot. So, no. I don't need any of your Chanel, YSL, or Louis Vuitton dresses, Saoirse."

The redhead's cheeks reddened, "I'm using a Valentino."

Nyx, was I that needy of human contact and attention to befriend her? What was I thinking? Emerald clenched her jaw, putting her turtle-neck short-sleeved black tank top, which matches her high-waist leather black shorts, with matching black bra and panties underneath. Then she sat down on Dior's bed, since she refused to be in Saoirse's room, and began to put on her fleece black socks, and then her ankle high lace-up combat boots.

"Talk to me, Emerald, please," Saoirse bend down in front of her, trying to make Emerald look at her. "I want your friendship back."

"Too late for that. What you want, Saoirse," Em's eyes met hers, "is to look good by befriending the powerful new freak girl in Alexandrini. What you want, is to look good because you brought me there, and I'm going to take the top spot for myself, and being my friend would bring you up in everyone's eyes. What you want," she hissed through clenched teeth, "is to use me to take down the people who you are jealous of."

"And what's wrong with that?" She finally snapped, sitting down, adjusting her light green summer dress to cover the middle of her legs. "The Phoenix faction is responsible for the deaths of my dad, my grandparents, my entire coven, my uncles, aunts, cousins. They killed everyone, Emerald. So what if I want to take them down and kill them?"

Hah, now she's showing her true colors. "You mother killed their mothers, Saoirse," Emerald scoffed. "I think you've traumatized them for the rest of their lives. Especially Simon, no? You didn't meet your father, and even less saw him getting killed. I assure you, out of experience, that watching your mother die in front of your eyes, is worse than whatever you think you feel."

Saoirse froze, "Did… Did Gerhard kill her in front of you?"

"What? No. My dad was obsessed with mom, he would never do that," Emerald hissed more offended than anything.

And when Saoirse's eyes widened in horror and she covered her lips with her hand, Emerald realized she had shown more than she should. "Fuck, Emerald. It was you, wasn't it? You,"

"Another word, and I'll make you regret ever having met me," she hissed, every word with utmost anger, swallowing the guilty. And when she opened her mouth, Emerald glared daggers at her, "Try me, Saoirse."

The redhead swallowed, doing her best to hide the shivers of fear Emerald was causing her to feel, "I… won't mention it. I promise."

As if her word was worthy shit. "I've heard this before, and look at where I am now because I trusted you, uh?" She scowled. "Fuck off. Stay away from me, Saoirse. I am warning you, this is a threat. Didn't you say I was a changeling? Then you should know I have the guts and the lack of guilt to go through exactly what I say I will. We were friends, you and me are no more, if you don't want to piss me off, you better keep that in mind."

Standing up, she ignored the girl and walked to Dior's bedside table that had a large mirror in it.

"Leave, Saoirse," she told her and after a minute she did.

Sitting down on the chair in front of it, she got the two emerald green hair ties on her right wrist and began to braid her long straight black hair in twin boxing root braids, hanging long enough to reach her tiny waist. Taking the little make up she has, she put on her cherry red matte lipstick, and some silver highlight on the snub button tip of her small nose, on her cheekbones, and left her eyes clean, since they will be covered fully my the eyeglasses.

"Here," Saoirse came back, a small leaf-shaped glass of perfume in her hand, having a phtalo green lace around the top, and a light green glittery liquid inside. "It's cocoa and coffee scented, since I know you love both."

Emerald swallowed unsure, staring at it, "What's this for?"

"It's a…" she paused for a second, "a trust perfume potion, it's my specialty on the perfumes area, I may not be good with the lust one, but this one is good. It'll help them being less suspicious of whatever you say, and help you maintain your lies up. Though you should be extremely careful near Simon, he has a feline sensibility when it comes to his nose."

She steeled up, "Did you use this on me?" It wasn't an accusation.

"No," Saoirse gasped, "no. I swear in the name of my family, that I never used this on you. I lied, I know, but I was honest with liking you."

Now I really don't believe her one bit. "Hah. What's with Simon?"

The redhead let out a sigh of relief, "Simon, as part golden wizard, had abnormally strong mental abilities, and one of them is being able to tell when someone is lying or not. Florence can also tell, as part golden witch, but not at all as sharply and accurately as Simon can. Beware them. Beware all of them actually, they could record whatever interaction they have with you, without you knowing, and show to Simon. In fact, you should avoid speaking to them, or getting near them. I know you don't believe me, and that I hurt you and broke your trust, Em, but I don't want to see you hurt. And the Circle will hurt you, just because you're with us."

Well, this is troublesome. Truth telling abilities? I never heard of that kind of shit, it'll be annoying as fuck given how much I will lie to them. "Don't worry about me, Saoirse, worry about yourself. I'm not the daughter of their mom's serial killer, you are. You're in more danger than I am, and I'm brutely stronger than you, even if I don't have control yet. A drop of my blood in their drink, and they are screwed."

"Don't remember me, I don't want to think about the trouble they will cause for me," she passed a hand over her hair, anxious. So anxious that Emerald could almost smell it.

And that part of her, who still cares for Saoirse tensed up, "Do they bully you or something?" She asked, avoiding her blue eyes.

"You said it yourself, my mom killer theirs. Of course, they bully me," she groaned. "And I'm not strong enough to fight them. Not alone, and not when they are in group. They are always together."

Ugh, stupid Emerald. I wanna murder my feelings. "Run to me if they try to bully you. For as long as we were friends, I was honest, and I really cared about you, I still do, even if I hate it. And I'll make sure to kill those feelings, but for now," she grabbed the perfume from her hand, "I'll try helping."

Saoirse gasped, "Emerald! What part of 'You have to stay far away from the Circle' did you not get?"

"I'll be armed," she rolled her shoulders, and leaned over her back-pack, taking the belt containing a set of 20 ash daggers she crafted herself while living in the cottage, on which she poured more than a drop of her blood in each. The 15 daggers with the crystal handle being the ones with poison, and the 5 daggers with the stone handle being the antidote ones. "I found a spell in one of Dior's grimoires that binds a weapon to its owner, so, I did that. They are bound to me."

"Can you just give me one?"

"I don't trust you with this, Saoirse," Emerald mocked. "And you can't steal it either, because again, they are bound to me, by my blood. Only I can poison and cure someone cut with them." Given her wicked words and wicked intentions towards my dad's protégées, she would definitely try to kill them, and those kids already lost too much because of Dior, let them keep their lives. Mom knew them, and probably cared for them, and my dad definitely does, I can't let them get killed. Just as I don't want to let Saoirse get killed by them either. That is, for now, I might have to kill her later.

"But I can't go running to you just like that, Emerald," she gasped.

"You won't think that if your life in on the line," Em countered. "I assure you," she added mockingly, then passed the perfume behind her ears, on her neck, on her hip-line under the shorts, between her breasts, and on her wrists, touching them on the deep curves of her waist, then she inhaled it. "Cocoa, coffee, and a hint of smoky wood. At least you remember my favorite scents and combined them," she said bitterly.

Saoirse swallowed, "I wasn't faking being your friend, Emerald."

"You don't deceive and break the trust of a friend, Saoirse."

"I needed you in Alexandrini, that was the only way," she tried.

"No," Emerald snapped, hurt. "You could have told me. You could have opened up and told me you needed me there, because you needed the points to win over the kids of the people who killed your dad, your coven. You could have been honest, Saoirse, and I would have gone there for you, because that's the friend I am. But now I see you didn't deserve me, you didn't trust me, as well as you didn't keep to yourself the things I trusted you with. I would have never done that to you, but you didn't think twice before doing that to me. Our friendship is dead, and you only have yourself and your disloyalty to blame, so don't push it when you hurt me."

She swallowed, struggling, "Em,"

"You picked your priorities, Saoirse. You're not a kid, you're an adult, a grown woman conscious enough to make her own decisions. You were my priority here, but I wasn't yours, your greed for school points was. That's how important I was to you. And that, I cannot forgive. Don't worry, I don't hate you, and I don't want you dead yet," she took a step towards her. "But backstab me one more time, and that will change as quick as my lashes can blink. It's a promise. And opposite to you, I am a witch of word!"

"I'm back!" Dior chanted from the living room, and Emerald turned to the door, grabbed her things and left Saoirse alone in her mom's room without another word.
