HOW TO ASCERTAIN THAT A MATTER IS LIVING

Matter is anything that has mass and occupies space. Examples of matter include stone, rat, plant, Human being etc.

Living things include many kinds of organisms, from the plants, animals, fungi, and algea that can be readily seen in nature to the multitude of tiny creatures known as protozoan, bacterium, and archaea that can be seen only with a microscope. Living things can be found in every type of habitat on Earth on land and in lakes, rivers, and oceans.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A LIVING MATTER

1. Living things are made up of a cell or cells: a cell is the smallest and functional unit of all living matter.

2. They obtain nutrient and use energy to survive.

3. They have unique ability to reproduce: Reproduction is a biological process by which a living matter replicates off springs that is biologically similar to the matter.
