Alessia sat in the dimly lit room, feeling the tension in the air as she waited for the meeting to begin. The table in front of her was cluttered with laptops, papers, and a half-eaten sandwich that no one had touched in hours. Though she had been to the underground basement before, she didn't know that they had such an exquisite hideout.
She glanced at Laura who acted like she was invisible and gave another scoff. If they had met in another scenario, she would have given her more than a slap, maybe pull a few hundreds strands of her hair.
Thomas was pacing close to the entrance, his forehead creased with stress, while Kira leaned against the wall, arms crossed, observing the room with her usual cool detachment. Laura sat in the corner, setting up her slides with her usual overly enthusiastic flair.
