Alessia was exhausted from her long day at work. She had left the protection of Xavier's house despite it being the safest option judging how the attacks against them didn't seem like it would be stopping any time soon.
At work, she kept her distance from him, not wanting to be in an enclosed space with him. Xavier didn't pressure her into understanding, he let her be so she could process things all by herself.
