The next day, Anthony decided not to go to the office and take a break from work. He woke up later than usual, the sunlight streaming through the curtains casting a warm glow in his room. For the first time in what seemed like months, he felt no urgency to jump out of bed and rush through his morning routine. His mind was unusually calm, though there was a slight sense of unfamiliarity. He was so used to his days being packed with meetings, deadlines, and endless decisions. The idea of a free day, without responsibilities, felt foreign. After a few minutes of lying there, staring at the ceiling, he reached over to grab his phone and called his secretary to clear out his schedule.
"Good morning, sir," his secretary answered quickly, as she always did.
"Good morning, Judith. Clear my schedule for today. I won't be coming in."
